Tour was excellent. The weather was not so good, rain off and on, but our guide made the most of it. He was very knowledgeable about the area's history and very easy to talk to and ask questions. Because the weather wasn't so great we made an unscheduled trip to an indoor museum.
A personalized travel experience of great value

Our guide, Gerardo, of Amigos Tours, was personable, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. This is his own company so it is important for him to maintain an experience of high quality and good value, Since our ship was not leaving until late that evening, the tour was not rushed. We stopped about noon at a cafe to enjoy fresh out-of-the-oven empanadas and red wine provided by Gerardo. Gerardo provided much history of Chile and Punta Arenas.; many anecdotes of local characters, visits to Strait of Magellan museum and Fort Bulves, easy walks to enjoy viewpoints and bird-life, exploration of the Nao Victoria museum with its astounding life-size replicas of Magellan's ship and Darwin's Beagle. We walked through the Municipal Cemetary, ranked as one of the most beautiful in the world, and heard stories about the founders and most notable characters of Punta Arenas. After a hill-top overview of the city, our tour finished in the stunning central square of Punta Arenas, where we had the option to explore on our own or be returned to the ship. We had been quite surprised to find a city of 120,000 people with such an interesting history so far south in the world! Well done, Gerardo. This was the most interesting tour of our voyage. Your love of your city and country was very apparent and we hope to visit again to explore the environs of Punta Arenas. Al & Joan, Canada

Fredricco and his side kick were excellent. Great English, amazing historical knowledge and full of enthusiasm. Fredricco went far beyond what was in the tour description. We love the chocolate factory and the trip to seek the Shackleton boat. It was all the best. Travelers do not miss this one Tim Cathy Lee and Russell Thank you very very much for a wonderful day

An excellent way to spend a day in Punta Arenas
, Mar 2020
Our guide spent some time in George to get his degree. It was not a private tour. However, it is a small group tour (12 in total). He took us all over Punta Arenas and offered us a calafati cookie an bottle of water each. What a nice gesture. He knows how to win good reviews.
Friendly guide and great day

We had a great day visiting the fort and city. Our guide was knowledgeable about the region’s history and did a great job getting us to see everything while still getting us back to the ship on time.

Brilliant day tour
, Mar 2020
This was a brilliant day out. Our tour guide Gerado was excellent & took us to all the planned places and a chocolate shop for chocolate sampling (& buying!). We started with a trip to Fort Bulnes which was interesting. A stop on the way back for the best Chilean empanadas & a view of the Magellan strait with the occasional dolphin sighting. We had a city tour of Punta Arenas including the cemetery and a visit to Vittoria museum to see replicas of the Beagle, Ancud and Vittoria. We spent 9 hours on the tour giving us plenty of time to see everything we wanted to. Would thoroughly recommend this tour & Gerado.
South America at Its Best
, Mar 2020
Gerardo did an excellent job of introducing the members of our tour to Punta Arenas and to Chile! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all of our stops and sampling the delicious empanadas. We had Chile mote con huesillos with our meal, a sweet drink made with peaches and hulled wheat. This was at the top of our list of favorite activities in South America!
