Wonderful adventure with a knowledgeable and fun guide!

My husband, 24-year old son, and I took this excursion and loved it. Carlos was a great guide, sharing his knowledge and love of the bay and wildlife found there, while Emilio guided the boat expertly to the Hidden Beach (Playa del Amor). The swim to the beach through the tunnel was exciting, and Carlos was with us every step of the way to make sure we were safe and had a great time. From the beginning to the end, this excursion was fun - with excitement, beautiful scenery, and time enough to relax on the boat.

We had so much fun on this adventure. Lisandro was very informative and fun. There were only 10 of us on the boat so it was an intimate experience. Hidden Beach was so beautiful!

Frigid water and rough ocean

Con- I think the over all experience of this tour would have been amazing if the boat was bigger so that it could take the impact of the rough ocean better. It was a super rough ride. Then when we finally stopped, I instantly felt sea sick, but I did not have time to even dwell on it because we were quickly rushed to put our life vests and helmets on so that we could jump into the ice cold water and swim under the cavern to see Hidden Beach. I think my body went into shock because I was uncontrollably shaking when we finally made it into the beach, thankfully the sun was out. We were only able to enjoy the beach for maybe 20min. then we were rushed out again. I never recovered from being freezing cold and sea sickness from that point on. I did not enjoy the snorkeling. My husband was worried because my lips were purple. Plus, I vomited my guts out. I was happy to have fed the fishes. Pros- The tour guide was great! Hidden Beach was awesome and a must see if you can stand ice cold, rough waters. I would try going in the heat of summer when water is much warmer. We saw a whole family of whales! We also saw a flock of seagulls and a school of dolphins feeding on sardines in the water. That was definitely a treat because you don't see those things often in one tour.

Swimming into the Hidden Beach was great!

These guys rock! I love that they do smaller groups. It made it more personable and easy to swim to the Hidden Beach. We were also able to snorkel and see all the other islands, not to mention stop to see all the whales see along the way and they also had a small lunch for everyone to eat on the boat ride back. Our guide Carlos very knowledgeable.

Worth it!

Our host Lisandro was great, speaking in English and Spanish. We saw whales on our 40 minute ride out to the Marietas. Once there, we popped on helmets & swam to Hidden Beach. So neat. Came back to the boat, and then snorkeled around another part of the islands. Their snorkels were nice and new, but this was not world-class snorkel, just saw a few fish, urchins, coral, and an eel. Sandwiches were provided for way back. No bathroom on board. Bring your own towel & clothes for the windy boat & sun.

PV's Best Excursion

Guide Lisandro and Boat Captain Jesus created the perfect excursion and lasting memories for us. From start to finish they were friendly, professional and took every precaution to ensure our safety and well-being. I was most impressed with the quality of the equipment we were issued - everything from life vests to snorkels was new, or almost new, and in in excellent condition. The boat itself was also in great condition, and very clean too. The ride to and from the Islands gives a panoramic view of the bay. We were also quite fortunate to run into both whales and dolphins in one trip! Capt. Jesús spotted a pod of gray whales feeding with their calf on the way to the islands. He stopped and got as legally close as he could so we could snap pictures and observe these majestic animals. On the way back we got lucky again and Capt. Jesús spotted a pod of 100s of dolphins. It was so amazing to see them feeding and breaching. It was something out of National Geographic. Truly amazing. Oh yeah, we also took a trip to the hidden beach which is in and of itself and amazing natural wonder. Lisandro made sure we arrived safely and took great pics of us. We got to snorkel around a nearby island and saw corals and diverse variety of fishes. The water was cold, but once you're body acclimates and you focus ln the marine life you completely forget about that. I definitely recommend bringing a gopro, towels, change of clothes and dramamine if you don't have sea legs. The ham and cheese torta provided is very good, and quite filling too. This is a great team working to create great memories for their guests! I recommend this tour to anyone. They also offer SCUBA, so I plan on returning and booking Lisandro and Jesús for a trip back out on the water.
