Returns to original departure point
Zip around Old San Juan by Segway as you explore its top attractions on this 2-hour small-group tour. Take in incredible views of San Juan Bay, Castillo San Felipe del Morro and San Cristobal Fort, among others, as you learn the fascinating history of this 500-year-old settlement first started by the Spanish Empire.

Meet your group at Pier 2 in Old San Juan, the tour’s departure point. Your meeting time will vary depending on the tour option you select, leaving at either 10am, 1pm or 4pm. First grab your helmet and get a safety lesson on using the two-wheeled Segway from your guide, and take some time to get familiar with starting and stopping. From there you’re ready to roll, heading out into the streets of this picturesque colonial district.

Move along the area’s cobblestone streets and colorful facades, stopping for photos and for a military history lesson from your guide. Soon you’ll reach Darsenas Square, which provides panoramic views of modern San Juan and its bay, and then see the remains of the San Juan Gate, where you'll hear about the crucial role the city’s harbor once played in maritime defense.

Continue your ride along the hilly streets, stopping to admire the imposing walls of La Muralla, a 3-mile (5 km) long and 140-foot (43 m) high barrier that once served as the linchpin of Old San Juan’s military defenses.

Your tour then moves past some additional monuments, including the Cathedral of San Juan Bautista, site of the remains of famous Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon, who searched for the Fountain of Youth, as well as the Ballaja infantry barracks and the cannon battery of La Perla, which was eventually turned into a slaughterhouse. After a few more attraction stops, your tour finishes back at the departure point.

There was a mix up with directions and we missed the tour!! They did not work to help us reschedule. I have booked with Viator many times and never had a vendor not work with me for my tours.

Amazing tour and guide

I had a blast on this tour. Segways are so much fun. It took us about 5-10 minutes practicing with Juan and we were (almost) pros, lol. Juan was patient and very informative. It's a great way to see old San Juan and get some history and culture. Juan is a veteran and has several generations of his family from the island. I can't imagine a better tour guide. Also folks, touring a city by segway has to be the best way ever to get through those tight streets and inclines. Super pleased with my experience.

Segway in Old San Juan
AnneF
, Jun 2021
This was such a fun excursion! Jose is an amazingly knowledgeable and professional guide that gave us such a great tour of Old San Juan on a Segway. There are lots of hills in Old San Juan and it can be pretty hot out there. This was such a neat way to see everything without worrying about the heat and the hills! Plus you get a wonderful education on the history of Puerto Rico. Our teens (19 and 16) loved this too! Jose gives a lesson before the tour starts so you don’t have to know how to ride a Segway. Once you get the hang of it, it is so fun! I highly recommend this. It was one of our favorite outings on our trip to Puerto Rico!

Horrible!
Riley_H
, May 2021
We were unable to ride the segway as they said my family was over the weight limit. They would not refund our money because they said I confirmed we were the appropriate weight when I booked-which I didn't. I wouldn't have booked it and paid over $400 dollars knowing we were over the designated weight. Not only were we discriminated against because of our weight they kept our money and embarrassed my family. This place and their practices were disgusting. Disappointed that viator allows this to happen....never using viator services again.
icon Response from Host , Jul 2021
Horrible. When you filled the weight of participants, they where all below the 260lbs Segway manufacturer limit. When you showed for the tour, you scaled above the limit. Can’t see how our practices are disgusting.

It was very fun. The Segway was easy to learn. The tour showed us a lot and we got to do more because we weren’t walking. We had a 13 year old daughter and two adults. All did it well
