Overview

Live out your island castaway fantasies aboard a luxury catamaran as you visit the deserted tropical island of Cayo Icacos from San Juan on this half-day sailing cruise. Sail into the aquamarine waters of the Caribbean, admiring views of the El Yunque mountains in the distance, before arriving at the nature preserve of Icacos for a leisurely day of swimming, snorkeling, and a lunch buffet with drinks.
  • Luxury catamaran cruise to Cayo Icacos from Fajardo
  • Ride to the small and quiet island of Icacos
  • Snorkel in a reef area, swim in clear blue waters and relax on the beach
  • Capture beautiful views of El Yunque National Forest and Fajardo’s coastline
  • Enjoy a delicious lunch buffet and drinks on board
  • Upgrade to include round-trip hotel transport from San Juan
Start your day with an optional pickup from hotels in San Juan, or make your own way to the marina in Fajardo. As your catamaran pulls up anchor and heads into the cerulean seas, check out great views of the coastline’s beaches, plus scenic vistas of nearby El Yunque National Forest. Don’t forget to enjoy a piña colada, rum punch, soda or juice from the bar on the way.

Your catamaran arrives at Icacos Cay, part of a chain of 10 small islands that comprise La Cordillera Keys Nature Reserve. If weather conditions require, your captain may navigate instead to the equally stunning island of Palominitos. Then hop in the water for some aquatic activities, including snorkeling on the nearby reef, swimming or beachcombing on the shore of this placid paradise.

When you start to get hungry around midday, head back to the boat for a buffet spread. Build a sandwich from the included array of fresh-baked bread (pan de agua), sliced meats including turkey, ham, pastrami and salami, sliced cheeses, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. Make sure to also grab some sides, including gourmet pasta salad, chicken salad, coleslaw, bean dip, chips, cookies, and fresh fruit.

Following lunch, your catamaran heads to another reef for more snorkeling or sunbathing. While underwater, keep your eyes peeled for reef creatures including colorful fish and the occasional octopus or manta ray. Or stay dry on the deck, where you can gaze at the sea life through glass windows or shoot down the boat’s built-in waterslide.

Your relaxing sailing day finishes with a return cruise back to the harbor, where you can find your optional hotel transportation back to San Juan.

Family Vacation for all ages (Children & Senior Citizens)

The Deserted Island Catamaran Day Sail was the highlight of my family vacation. We had a blast and the crew was very helpful, especially considering the fact that many of my family members aren't great swimmers. The crew along with family members kindly helped those non-swimmers safely reach the shore. You have to swim a little to shore before your able to stand upright in the water.

Unfortunately we did this excursion during the beginning of the lift of the Covid but must say they did an extremely great job on keeping everyone to social distancing the set up was amazing they kept everyone safe during this epidemic crisis yet we still had a blast from the ongoing drinks, atmosphere, food, the crew, the beautiful beaches and tour!!! I would highly recommend this company and excursion will definitely be back and will do this excursion again!!!! Thank You!!!!

Pretty good time - the catamaran had a fairly large group, but the guides were very attentive. Wished it was a smaller group but still a good time!

Great trip: beach & snorkeling

The trip was amazing! totally recommend this trip for a nice combination of beach & snorkeling. The crew was also very welcoming, fun & helpful. The snorkeling spot was ideal from a safety standpoint, the only callout is that nature wise, the reefs were pretty damaged at the spot, so visibility was limited.

Fantastic day!

Absolutely fantastic day. The crew is knowledgeable and a lot of fun. We had excellent weather, which didn't hurt, but the stops along the way were perfect. The beach is lovely (even if it's a bit crowded with lots of other tour boats there), and the snorkeling was amazing. So many fish in the water. Highly recommend this!

A proper catamaran trip

The trip took us to 2 destinations -- a beach and a reef. Very laid back and slow-paced, the crew ensured everybody had the time they needed to snorkel and take pictures. I would say there were as many as 5 or 6 other companies that do similar tours, with similar lunch and drink offerings. Surely worth the money, that is if you don't mind traveling with 60 other tourists, but I have had better catamaran experiences in Barbados that provided local snacks as hors d'oeuvres throughout the trip with recipes provided, took pictures for us on deck and underwater, made 3 snorkeling stops, saw the sunset while on the boat, and enjoyed a less crowded ride all for about $20 more. The colors of the ocean and the reef were truly amazing in Puerto Rico though, and that was the highlight for us.
