Overview

When visiting Phoenix, a trip to the Grand Canyon is a must-do. This full-day tour takes in Arizona's most scenic landscapes, including the Sonoran Desert, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, and Flagstaff. At the Grand Canyon, follow a route along the East Rim and South Rim, stopping frequently to gaze at stunning views. Have time to walk and eat lunch (own expense) at Grand Canyon Village, and go through the Navajo Nation on your return drive, stopping to shop for Native American crafts at an authentic trading post.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive through the Sonoran Desert and the red rock country of Sedona
  • Be amazed at the views during the driving tour along the rim of the Grand Canyon
  • Shop for authentic souvenirs at a trading post in the Navajo Nation
  • Learn about the Grand Canyon's natural and human history
After morning pickup in Phoenix, travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle with large viewing windows, beginning your journey to the Grand Canyon by crossing the Sonoran Desert into the red rock country of Sedona.

Take a break in Sedona for morning coffee, photo ops, and a stroll through town before getting back on the road, taking a scenic route through Oak Creek Canyon. Climb into the San Francisco Mountains around Flagstaff and roll along parts of historic Route 66, arriving arrive at the Grand Canyon around mid-day.

Take a break to eat (own expense) at a restaurant on the South Rim and enjoy your first glimpse of the majestic canyon landscape. Then have time for a short nature walk, take photos from great overlooks, or browse the souvenir shops. Afterward, rejoin your guide for the big event: a driving tour along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Be amazed by sweeping views at every twist of the road, with plenty of stops for photo ops along the way.

After your driving tour along the South Rim to the East Rim, depart from the canyon via the Navajo Nation, where your driver stops on the reservation at the historic Cameron Trading Post. There, learn about the Navajo people and have time to shop for authentic Navajo jewelry, arts, and crafts. Back on the road, your guide points out views of the Painted Desert and Little Colorado River Gorge in the distance.

Relax on the return drive, which takes you back through the Flagstaff and Verde River Valley. Stop for snacks en route, before your tour ends with drop-off at your Phoenix hotel in the evening.

The tour itself was good but I feel it was misleading as I paid to go visit two rims the East and the South. Viator didn’t have enough people to complete the tour so we were switched to another tour operator. When I asked if we will visit both rims I was told it is impossible to visit two rims in a day. Why would Viator sell something that is not manageable? To top it off supposedly because of weather conditions and the day was beautiful we didn’t visit the Navajo Reservation but we stop for 45 minutes at Sedona.

Please be advised that there is only one road to and from South Rim and East Rim and due to weather that came in on Sunday, the road was closed by the Forest Service. For Environmental Reasons, the Forest Service does not plow and put anything down on the road at the Grand Canyon, which is why it was closed due to conditions, yet the day you may have been there was beautiful the road was not passable. We are not sure where a misunderstanding came from, but we routinely conduct this tour visiting both East and South Rims as long as the road is open. We hope that seeing the beauty of the Grand Canyon this time of year is one that will be everlasting for you.

Luckily, I was prepared for the varying cold and rainy weather but that didn’t stop me from enjoying an amazing time at the Canyons! Amazing views. Due to the weather the trip was cut an hour or two short from what was advertised as the length, but I was still satisfied with what I saw when we departed. Would recommend for the great and friendly tour guides.

Wayne was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide. The only thing for us was we were scheduled for pick up at our hotel and less then 24hrs before we took the tour, we were told to meet the guide at a different hotel which was a cost we did not plan for.

So much better than attempting to do the drive myself. The first stop and view of the canyon was spectacular and worth the whole trip. I would have never stopped there on my own. An excellent day!

This was an excellent tour - Andrea was great and she showed us so many different lookout points for the canyon tour. If you want to spend time at the canyon, maybe walk around more - then that is something to think about. We got about an hour and 45 minutes to walk around on our own- but to me that was plenty of time.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Grand Canyon!!! Our adventure started out with Bill driving us to Sedona which was absolutely gorgeous!! After that Kevin took us on our Grand Canyon tour. Kevin was the best guide I have ever had!! His knowledge of the geology of the canyon as well as his knowledge of the Navajo culture literally made this the trip of my life time!!! You cannot go wrong with this tour!!!
