4-Day Bike Tour of Cambodia's Pepper Route from Phnom Penh

We had a fantastic time on this trip. Our flight was delayed getting out of Australia so we missed our connection in Malaysia and our first night in Phnom Penh. However, we caught the early flight on the day our tour was scheduled to start and we were greeted at the airport by our awesome guide, Mr Sim. Within 5 minutes, we were in the van with the bikes and cold drinks and on our way! We were always prepared to be in a larger group, but lucky us, we had a private tour! Our guide was very friendly and helpful every step of the way. We had breaks every 10kms or so and our driver, Mr King was ready with cold drinks, fresh fruit and other packaged snacks. We felt safe and looked after the whole trip. We learned much about the history of Cambodia both ancient and recent. Very enlightening and informative with so many little surprises along the way. One big surprise, US Dollars were accepted literally everywhere. We sampled so many interesting foods in the four days of the tour. The riding was mostly flat terrain, but there were a few hills to contend with, particularly on the last day. In my opinion, the heat was a much bigger factor, but being able to go at whatever pace we wanted made the riding very enjoyable. We started around 8am and we generally finished around 12 or 1, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy each location we stayed in. We found the Cambodian people to be very friendly and helpful. We plan to return another time.

Great trip around country roads to experience the local way of life guided by an experienced local guide, Panya, who explained the culture, beliefs and history of his country. Our driver, Dum, supported us with cold drinks, snacks and bicycle repairs. Our accommodation had character and was comfortable and the food that Panya chose for us was excellent - locally sourced seafood and traditional dishes eaten in superb locations. Unfortunately rain interrupted our cycling on Bokor mountain. Panya and Dum's enthusiasm towards our trip really made it a success for us.
