Leave Paris for a full-day tour of two of the most popular day trip destinations outside the French capital, Louis XIV's Palace of Versailles and Monet's garden in Giverny.

Your first stop is Giverny, where Impressionist master Claude Monet lived from 1883 until his death in 1926. Walk across the Japanese bridge and gaze upon the water lily pond while you stroll the gardens that surround his former home. This picturesque landscape was the inspiration for many of his most famous paintings, including the Nymphéas series.

After a guided tour of Monet's gardens, it's time for a hearty lunch at the Moulin de Fourges. This 18th-century mill, inspired by the Queen's Hamlet, has been transformed into a restaurant and inn. From there, continue by coach to Versailles.

The opulent décor at the Palace of Versailles—once the extravagant home of King Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette—includes the Hall of Mirrors and the Royal Grand Apartments. On your guided tour, try to imagine daily life for the royal family. Then enjoy some free time in the World Heritage-listed Versailles Gardens and wander among the groves, sculptures, and fountains. On particular days, from April to October, they are part of a musical Fountains Show; if you're lucky you'll see this special display (cost included), set to the tunes of Louis XIV's era, before your day trip concludes with travel back to Paris.

Lots of treasures

We really enjoyed the trip to Giverny. This has been on my bucket list for a long time and it did not disappoint. There were lots of people there but we had no problem making our way around the gardens. It was stunning. We enjoyed seeing Monet's home. Lunch was absolutely delicious in such a quaint restaurant. On we traveled to Versailles. It was raining and extremely crowded. To be honest it was not the experience we hoped for. We felt like sardines and couldn't wait to get out. Because of the rain our trip though the gardens of Versailles was rushed. This certainly was not the fault of our tour.
Best of Paris!

Monet House and Versailles are a must see if you are visiting France for the first time. The tour was comfortable and our guides were great. There was ample time to see everything and anything you would like to at Monet House. If you are visiting Versailles for the first time, I would recommend a different tour where you can spend more time there. 2 hours at Versailles is only enough to visit the main building. The gardens and other buildings a worth a separate visit for sure. 5 stars for comfort and service.

Absolutely fabulous tour guide. Awesome lunch. Only wish I had seen more of the gardens But that was out of the control of our guide. Mass crowds

This trip was way too rushed for one day! We only had about 2 hoursi in Giverny and that was not nearly enough! Our guide talked too fast and she was not clear about our directions.. After an excellent lunch at a charming inn.,we went to Versailles. The guided tour here was much better. Same guide just spoke slower and seemed more relaxed. If I could do the tour over I would do them separately! 3 Stars!
Not quite as billed

We visited Monet house,no guided tour was available. After an allotted time, we left and had a lovely lunch. When we arrived to Versailles, there were many many people lined up to go inside. The skip the line was wonderful but inside it was wall to wall people!! This was in August. I specifically wanted a guide to hear interesting information about the palace. Our guide walked so quickly the people at the end of the group could not hear what was being said. It would have been better to rent portable recordings. I was actually in rooms that we didn't have any idea of the rooms use. I felt our guide could have shared more information but I felt we were rushed through. I thought this tour also included a guide for the gardens. It would have been wonderful to hear specific informaton about the beautiful gardens. I had no idea they were so large! You cannot see entire gardens from the palace windows. We chose to visit on Sunday. Period music was coordinated with "dancing fountains"......beautiful. Next time I vote to see the gardens only.
Everything We Had Hoped For

It was a picturesque, comfortable ride in a clean, modern bus to Giverny's Monet House. After a brief guided tour of the gardens, we had ample time to explore the gardens and pond in further detail. Then we independently toured the main house, which was too small and crowded to handle a guided tour of 20+ people. The gift shop offered a wide selection of memorabilia. As usual, the ladies room was inadequate for the crowd. We then drove to a nearby restaurant, which was spacious, as if it was an event hall. Private tables were set up for our group. The meal was excellent. Quite a surprise, as there was unlimited free wine included. At Versailles, the guide was very knowledgeable and thorough. The crowd was manageable and there was no wait for our group to enter. After the guided tour, there was ample time to explore the gardens. We returned to the pick up point about 6:30. Overall, a good experience and value.

Most informative with added humor by guide as appropriate. Timing was on spot and the venue for the lunch was great. Highly recommend.

The gardens st Giverny were beautiful. Not too crowded although so you could get a lot of pictures. You don't get any time to walk around Giverny but we didn't mind. The house and grounds are worth seeing. Our lunch stop was at an old mill. The food and wine were excellent. A very beautiful setting. Versailles is huge and our guide explained what we would be seeing ahead of time. She did a wonderful job of providing history and insight into royal life. Because we did not have to wait in a line to get in we had extra time to explore the grounds.

Combined Givery and Versailles palace trip. Giverny in the morning, expect about an +1hour coach trip; small group of about 15. The gardens and house can be very crowded with people. Lunch provided at a nearby mill house was excellent (location and quality). Afternoon at Versailles and the 'jump the queue' privilage is a must which is what you pay for in this package. Never be late for the coach. They can give you 15 mins to return late but after that they will leave you behind. You are warned!
Monet House and Versailles Palace

The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. The Monet House is interesting but the gardens were magnificent. Versailles, as expected was very crowded, but the gardens were beautiful. Would recommend either a full day at Versailles, or a separate trip just to visit the gardens.
