Horrible experience! Stay away. Viator double booked me and charged me twice. I am now playing the how many times can this guy call asking for a refund before giving up game. Warning to all. Check your credit card statements.
First let me start by saying that our guide Pascal was GReAT.!! He had a wealth of knowledge. He made the journey up the stairs fun. It was slightly confusing to find the meeting point so go early to have time in case you get lost. ( or don’t let your husband direct you) Once at meeting point everything was smooth. Glad that we chose the stairs instead of the elevator. I defiantly recommend this tour and guide.
Our tour guide Henry (with a Y) was absolutely incredible. None of our questions went unanswered, not limited to the Eiffel Tower either! He knew so much about the entire city of Paris and it’s history. Couldn’t recommend this tour enough.
Even though we had this tour booked, we had to wait in line for over an hour for our guide to purchase tickets. We were than told even though we paid for the Summit Upgrade that it's full and we won't be able to go to the summit. Very disappointing.
I purchased "Eiffel Tower Climbing Experience with optional Summit" through Headout. I guess I should have looked more closely, but this was not an actual ticket purchase or skip the line ticket. I don't know if a skip the line ticket exists for the Eiffel tower climb, but if it does, BOOK IT. We went at the end of October, which is "low season" and still had to wait 2.5 hours to even start the climb!! Our tour guide was easy to find and knowledgeable so it is nothing against him at all (Georges or George S) but I never would have imagined that buying the guided tour in advance meant that we would all still have to wait in line to BUY the tickets once we got there. We didnt have to pay anything since we already paid Headout, but we still had to wait and it was pretty miserable. Also note that with this ticket, you still climb to the second floor, and then take an elevator to the very top. There was a massive line for the elevator when we got to it, and since we had already waited in line 2.5 hours and it was freezing, and then spent 30 minutes climbing/hanging out on the other floors, we didnt even go all the way to the top.
Worse part of my trip. Never found our guide or tickets

The Eiffel tower itself was a mad house of street vendors pushing you to buy discount replicas and key chains. Every few seconds some will come up to you. The meeting point for our guide was unclear in the email. My fiance and walked around the tower for an hour without finding our guide from this travel site. Entering the grounds under the tower and asking for help was also frustrating. We were told to leave where we were, which had taken about 20 minutes to get in, and find someone in a blue hat around the corner to redeem our actual tickets. We printed our info from the confirmation email. This will not grant you access. After waiting another 15 minutes to use the restroom, this also had security checking bags, we took a few pictures and left. We had pondered buying tickets there. That line was also crazy. After witnessing the madness, and not seeing anyone who works with or knows how to contact our tour, i wouldn't recommend anyone use this site.
I was looking forward to this the minute I got to Paris. The line to get to the stairs was extremely long but the guide kept us informed which made the wait feel shorter. Once we got our tickets and went to the stairs we moved pretty quickly. It is a tough climb for people who aren't in decent shape but the guides do good job of letting people catch their breath and legs, stopping at the different platforms. The views of Paris cant be beat from here, enjoy your time at the top.
