Traverse the dramatic jungle landscapes of Moorea by open-air 4WD vehicle — a great way to experience the island’s natural beauty. This morning tour takes you to the viewpoints of Belvedere Lookout and Magical Mountain, and visits sacred French Polynesian sites. Gaze at tropical fruits at the Lycée Agricole (Agriculture School) as your guide shares informative commentary about this idyllic island. Numbers are limited to eight passengers to ensure a small-group experience.
  • 4WD tour of Moorea’s natural highlights
  • Travel through Moorea's pineapple plantations in the comfort of an open-air 4WD vehicle
  • See fields of banana, vanilla and citrus at the Agriculture School (Lycée Agricole)
  • Stroll around an ancient Polynesian temple site
  • Take in stunning views of Cook’s Bay and Opunohu Bays from Belevedere lookout
  • Visit Magical Mountain where you get a breathtaking perspective on the island of Moorea
  • Small group allows for a more intimate experience with your local guide
Start your 4WD tour of Moorea with pickup from selected hotels, then hop inside your open-air 4x4 safari truck. A roof provide shade while allowing you to enjoy tropical breezes and birdsong during the journey. Your driver navigates Moorea’s paved roads as well as rugged terrain and makes stops for easy exploration along the way.

Admire fields of pineapple, banana, grapefruit, lemon and vanilla beans at the Lycée Agricole, an agriculture school that sells fresh fruit juices and delectable jams. Next, stop at the ruins of a marae, an ancient Polynesian temple dating back hundreds of years. Explore the stone platforms surrounded by encroaching jungle while your guide explains the significance of the archaeological site.

The 4WD vehicle makes its way to Belvedere Lookout where you’ll have fantastic photo ops of Mt Rotui and the emerald-green peaks that plunge into shimmering Opunohu Bay and Cook’s Bay. The crown jewel of island views awaits up a steep private road to Magical Mountain, which affords a panoramic vista over more volcanic island scenery.

Afterward, settle in for the return drive to Moorea, with drop-off at your hotel.

Tour Forgets Clients

There was no "Guide", just a driver. While other tours guides walked up the first view point hill and enthusiatically explained how the island was formed, the history of tahit , he instead waited below and was on his phone. Later he made a minimal effort, but was uneducated about anything and tried to fake it. . We listened in on other guides when we could. The worst was that instead of driving us back to our hotel as promised, , he dumped us at another hotel saying that a driver named Gabi would pick us up. Turns out it was Gabi's day off. Someone eventually came after an hour and a half. No one would answer the phone or text. A 4 hour tour turned into six. Very disappointing and frustrating unlike the other Viator tours.

View the Magic of Moorea

Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the your a lot of fun. The lookout points were stunning. You may want to close your eyes on the ride to Magic Mountain but he navigated the path flawlessly. We had free samples of all the fruit juice and liquor at the distillery (and bonus not mentioned initially in the tour). We sampled jam and pineapple at the Lycee Agricultural School and didn’t feel pressured to purchase any thing. It was a great tour to see Moorea and we definitely recommend.
