Departure Point: Departure will be from your designated Suva Port location Address: Suva Port Main South Gate entrance Directions: As you disembark your ship when it docks walk towards the Suva Port South Gate located on your right. A guide wearing a red hat and waving a red flag will be waiting for you. Please make your way towards him as he will have your booking information. Dates: Daily
After morning pickup from the cruise ship port in Suva, travel by air-conditioned coach for one about an hour to reach Pacific Harbour - Navua.

Cruise up the Navua River by canoe, taking in the scenic landscape of villages, tropical rainforest, and waterfalls. Stop at a small village where a local warrior escorts you to the village meeting house (bure) and introduces you to village traditions including the sacred yaqona (kava) ceremony.

Your guide shares the history of the village and shows you gardens with native crops, medicinal herbs, and kava plants. Watch young men perform war dances and women perform folk dances (except Sundays), and have the option to join in. You also visit a village pre-school and learn about handicraft souvenirs made by the villagers.

Have a typical lunch of Fijian fare and watch as the main dishes are uncovered after cooking in an underground oven.

Next up, head to the biggest waterfall in the area, which is situated about one hour up the river. A short walk takes you to the first pool, and your guide can lead you to bigger waterfalls if you're feeling adventurous.

Your final activity is a leisurely float downriver on sturdy bamboo rafts, which was the main mode of travel before roads and motor vehicles were introduced.

At the end of your tour, your guide returns you to the Suva cruise ship port.

It's a Jewel of Fiji

Dipping in the waterfall Knowing about the culture Trying out Cava Very tasty Lunch Floating in the bamboo raft
Please don’t overload the rafts!

We booked the tour while on a cruise. The ride to the tour was nice and in a good vehicle. We enjoyed the boat ride to the waterfall and swimming there. The program and lunch at the village was fantastic. The reason we only gave 4 stars is the bamboo raft debacle. The rafts were overloaded and riding too low in the water. Our raft was stuck on a rock and it took some work to even get going. It was already losing some lashing before we started, and was so low we felt unsafe. At least they aborted the raft ride, but the number of people aboard was a major concern.

A full day with excellent, knowledgeable and friendly guides. Nothing was too much trouble. We learned a lot about Fijian life and culture. Stunning scenery. Well worth the cost.

A superb day spent with local, very friendly Fijians in their village, on a long boat ride, on a raft and swimming by a massive waterfall. Perfect!

kava welcome ceremony very good and excewllent local food for lunch . only small niggle despite being told to be on fiji time ordered an extra massage and that cut into the demonstration time - we had to get back to the ship but had hours to spare- would still highly recommend this tour .
Best day !!

Super day - we booked this with Viator as we were on the Princess Cruise. Although the whole day was run professionally and with great care and detail - this was the most authentic and most genuine experience - lovely people and a full day of fun . The long boat ride was a great experience - thanks guys - fully recommend ! The Princess Ship does this same excursion for twice the price and half the time .

An amazing experience with beautiful people

I booked this experience online and everything went extremely smoothly: pick up from the cruise, travel in air con mini bus, commentaries from Malakai who was so funny and so knowledgeable, delicious lunch , great performances, beautiful village, fun ride on the river and beautiful waterfall! In fact exactly the same excursion than the one offered by Royal Caribbean for less than half the price and better conditions! Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you again in a not too distant future!
Fun and Memorable!

We really enjoyed this tour! The people of Koromakawa Village welcomed us, taught us some of their history and traditions, and provided a traditional meal. We had a long, picturesque canoe ride up the river, through some rapids, and past families and young people enjoying their afternoon. Our ride led us to a trail, where we walked to the waterfall and took a dip in the pool. Some local boys climbed the rocks to jump in. On the way back, we stopped to take a short ride on a bamboo raft. Lots of laughs along the way. We would definitely recommend this tour!
Great Day in Suva
, Dec 2019
The day was a little longer than expected but well worth it. The drive back and forth was not too bad and the driver pointed out plenty of sights along the way. The people working the tour made us feel very welcome and kept the day very interesting. The river part of the tour was great and the waterfall was absolutely beautiful. The bamboo raft part of the trip was a little forced since you only travel across the river but we made the best of it. The lunch and welcome by the village was great. I would recommend this tour.
Great trip
