At a crazy time, this tour was a great escape from the stress we are all experiencing. The crew were amazing and the sunset was gorgeous, we got to chat to other travellers. Will definitely do this again, once we're all allowed to travel again!

There was a beautiful sunset, the captain & crewman were friendly and funny , but the "cocktails" were watery and weak (this was somewhat disappointing.)

Great Cruise / Obstacle Course Trying to Board - Not for the Feint of Heart

Once we got off the beach and onto the water the cruise was great - 5 stars. The Captain and crew (okay, 1 guy who serves as deck hand and bar tender) were terrific...they got everyone in the spirit and the open bar also very helpful. Weather was so-so, pretty choppy, windy and we hit a rain squall....which of course are not the boat's fault and the trip was still fantastic...despite all of that still caught a perfect sunset. Only downside and reason for my 3-star rating....access to the boat is kind of ridiculous. I had a party of 6, including my 79-year-old mother-in-law. We met on the beach at the Outrigger Hotel and then proceeded to walk 10 minutes down the beach to the boat....my Mom-in-Law and wife (helping her), got soaked from the waves, then we had to boost her up onto this broken concrete ledge to walk the rest of the way. We almost didn't make it. Then when we got to the boat (in front of the Halekulani Hotel) the waves were surging, making the boat (run aground on the beach, not at a dock) roll as you tried to board. Tricky for most of us, super challenging for Mom and the guy with his leg in a cast. At least post that your trip is 'access challenged' or something; maybe go nuts and have someone with a step ladder to climb the concrete ledge.

Drinks were watered down and not the best tasting. Could have been clearer on what time to arrive at site.

The Waikiki sunset cruise was the perfect way to start our evening. We enjoyed sailing with the whales and snapping pictures of the beautiful Waikiki skyline. The captain and bartender were both very friendly, knowledgeable, and personable.

Weather can make or break it

There were high winds the evening of our December sail, and so not an optimal time for a cocktail sail! But we had made the reservations far in advance, and were up for an adventure. That said, if you go during a calmer period, I'm sure you will enjoy it. We all ended up getting a bit wet, and a few people on the sail didn't feel too great due to rougher-than-usual waters. But everyone was safe, and the accommodations were good. We'd do it again on a calmer night.
