Great experience

Great experience! Everyone showed up early to the booking allowing us to leave earlier than we scheduled. This allowed for us to have more time in the cage once we made it out on the water. They split us up into 2 groups of 6. Allowed us to have 25 minutes in the cage. There was approximately 10 sharks and a few fish to see while in the cage. You can rent a go-pro for $50 and they give you the SC card once your done. When in the cage you are being bumped around constantly because of the waves. Keep in mind it’s not smooth sailing out to the cage. It’s really bumpy and I wouldn’t recommend doing it if you get seasick easily.

My plans were cancelled because of weather the morning of the activity and I’m waiting on my refund I was never able to feed and dive with the sharks

Aloha Kearia, We are so sorry that the weather forced us to cancel your tour. Our dive site is 3 miles off shore and very susceptible to the Winds. That is the main reason we start so early in the morning. We will work on getting you the refund as soon as possible. We hope to be able to take you out with us some day and give you the encounter you are looking for! -Mahalo Hawaii Shark Encounters-
awesome early morning tour!

We had an awesome experience!! We saw so many sharks and a barracuda, and the captains Miles and Ephram were super friendly and knowledgeable. I felt safe the entire time, and you get a lot of time in the cage to view the sharks! The only thing that was a little rough is that the sea definitely pushes you around in the cage so a lot of us got seasick (bring motion sickness meds if you have them!). My one huge piece of advice: BOOK AN EARLY MORNING TOUR (6AM-7AM). Our first tour at 3pm got cancelled due to weather but luckily they were awesome about rescheduling us to a 7am tour a few days later. They are forced to cancel a LOT of afternoon tours because the weather gets so bad out there in the afternoons (at least while I was there) so definitely do early morning and book in the middle of your trip if possible so that if you need to reschedule, you can do so before you have to leave.

Aloha Dev, We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your dive! Yes you are correct the early morning tours are definitely better. As you know we have to go 3 miles offshore to find the sharks. We are sorry that you got sea sick with us, but we hope it didn't take too much away from your experience with the sharks. -Mahalo Hawaii Shark Encounters-

It was awesome! The tour was very enjoyable. The guides were attentive, informative and fun. Huge sharks and some barracuda! They even circled the boat back so we can see a pod of dolphins!😊 thumbs up!!!

The water was so smooth! We saw dolphins, turtles, and sharks. Was a little scary getting into the cage but they Were great about it. Fun crew who made you all feel special. The only downside was the the bathrooms at the marina didn’t open until 730 and there was no bathroom in the boat.

Sharks and More Sharks

Great crew SHARKS!!! We saw numerous sharks. They were constantly around the boat and cage. There are a couple different shark groups. Shark Encounters is not the first you see. It’s a small blue building across the harbor from where we pulled in and parked.

The captain was awesome I got sick but not anyone’s fault Great adventure Consider less time in cage & fewer ppl in it… 5 ppl at once is too many In that cage I’d like 5-7 min & 2ppl 20 was not necessary

Captain Dave and his counterpart (sorry can’t remember his name) were awesome and made us feel super comfortable. I had no previous snorkeling experience and freaked out a little when I first got in the cage but the experience was AMAZING AND PERFECTLY SAFE. SO BEAUTIFUL!!! Lastly, the guides were very knowledgeable and I highly recommend this tour with Hawaii Shark Encounters. Definitely got some cool videos and pics !!!!!!

Aloha Joseph, while we don't encourage letting sharks have a GoPro anywhere near them, with our education program you now understand why they would go to take an exploratory bite. Here's to seeing you again next time. Hawaii Shark Encounters Team...
