Departure Point

Traveler pickup is offered
For all our adventures you can select from nine centrally located and convenient meeting points in Waikiki. In addition to the listed hotels, we also pick up at the Army Museum bus stop on Kalia Road and the ROSS Store on Seaside Avenue.
Once we receive your online booking, our reservationists will automatically assign your pickup location to the one that is the closest to your hotel and will send you a confirmation email specifying that location with photos and maps. If you prefer to be picked up at a different location, please call our office.
If your hotel is outside of Waikiki we recommend that you meet us at the Ala Moana hotel.

Get off the beaten path as you explore one of the most beautiful waterfalls on Oahu, Manoa Falls, during this 4-hour excursion. It’s a great chance to explore the lush natural environment and beautiful scenery that have earned this island a deserved reputation as a tropical paradise.

Start your day with pickup from your Waikiki hotel at either 8am or 2pm (depending on the tour departure option you select). Please note that any guests not staying at a hotel in Waikiki will need to arrive at the Ala Moana Hotel for their pickup.

Then journey to the start of your hiking excursion, situated on the Manoa Trail just outside of Honolulu. Follow along with your trip’s guide and nature expert as you journey on 2-mile hike for about 2 hours into the lush-green forest along the trail. The hike proceeds at a moderate pace and sometimes features wet and slippery terrain due to the frequent moisture in the area. As you walk, listen to insightful commentary from your guide about area’s unique natural history, geology and ecosystem.

Soon you’ll arrive at the towering Manoa Falls, a waterfall with a vertical drop of around 150 feet (45m). This beautiful waterfall has earned plenty of camera time from tourists and Hollywood alike, thanks to its role as a filming location for Steven Spielberg’s 1997 movie, The Lost World.

After getting a few good photos of this amazing natural sight, proceed back to your transport for the ride back to Waikiki for a drop-off at your hotel.

Manoa Waterfall Hike is a must !

Beautiful scenery in the rainforest and the waterfall at the end is worth the hike. The guide provided a lot of information on the plants and highlighted sections of the trail that were used in movies.

So much vibrant greenery, beautiful flowers and breathtaking views. We took a guided tour and learned so much regarding the Eco system and movie sense. This is an easy hike that could easily be accomplished without a guide very well paved with visible markings.

We did this hike with our guide Sage, learned along the way up to the falls, we had nice weather but trail was slippery. Great morning hike.

The hike was everything advertised but going into a rainforest, every one on this tour wasn’t prepared with a pancho or some other protective over garment; we were drenched so riding back we were soaked and in an air conditioned vehicle. Hope we don’t get pneumonia.

Waterfall was low (not anyone’s fault). Regardless, you do not have the opportunity to swim in the waterfall. It’s a nature hike and viewing experience. Mahalo.

Slippery

This tour is only for those who are experienced hikers. The track is very slippery and if it wasn't for the wooden pole the tour company provide you would definitely have slipped over at least once. Some of the rock steps are very high (e.g. distance between one step and the next is higher than your foot to knee) so not for those who are not experienced hikers. The weather was hot and humid adding to the discomfort of the tour. The waterfall made the hike worthwhile.

A very pleasant walk through the Forrest of yesterday with its jurassic nature and panoramic views. regrettably the water fall had little water running over it on our visit but it would be spectacular when in full flow.

Eric our guide was great. He had interesting facts. He was very caring and understanding. At the time in August there was not much rain so not much of a waterfall but the hike was beautiful and worth it.

Sky was so good as pointing out the best of the rainforest on our way to the falls, he seemed to know everything about the place, the plants, all of it! It was a muddy hike, as it rained a bit when we first started the hike, so be prepared and wear shoes/hiking boots. So worth it!

My daughter (8 years) and I had such a great time. Not only was the fall itself wonderful but our Guide ‘Jenn’ was such a lovely and knowledgeable person - we learnt so much more about the local fauna and flora plus Hawaii itself : it made the experience so much better!!!
