Traveler pickup is offered
If guests have accommodation in Amsterdam pick up at Amsterdam Central Station.

Meet your guide and collect your rental bike (additional expense) at Amsterdam’s Central Station at the prearranged time on the morning of your tour. Start time and tour duration are flexible to suit your schedule, though a minimum of 5 hours and 25 km (16 miles) is recommended for the best experience.

Take a short ride to the starting point outside Amsterdam while your guide provides an overview of the landscape and itinerary options. Skip the city traffic and begin biking right in the picturesque countryside on relatively easy routes. Pedal past traditional windmills, rivers, canals, and country mansions built as the summer residences of Amsterdam’s wealthy families during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Take advantage of your art historian guide’s wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of the area. If you like, a traditional picnic lunch can be arranged including a variety of Dutch cheeses, bread baked from organic flour ground in a nearby mill, and various beverages (additional expense, please request in advance).

At the end of the customized route, return to Amsterdam and say farewell to your guide back at the original starting point.

What a wonderful day. The countryside is beautiful and charming. So glad we didn't miss it. Edmund was a wonderful guide. The perfect combination of sharing the historical perspective and leading us thru a lovely bike ride. All details were well organized. I recommend this highly.

An amazing bike ride through Dutch villages and countryside.

My husband and I went on a full day biking trip through the Dutch countryside. Our guide, Edmond, was amazing! Not only was he such a great guy, he taught us so much along the way. He tailored our biking tour to us. We biked about 40 Km, which is what I expected. We went by windmills, through small Dutch towns, past castles, past a fortress - I can't begin to remember all the sites along the way. He added a special stop for us - a visit to an old Jewish cemetery. After our visit to Anne Frank House and other Jewish sites in Amsterdam, this was an amazing place for us to visit. At various points along the tour, Edmond offered us choices regarding our route. So at the end of the day, we saw everything we wanted to see, and the biking was very appropriate for us. Edmond is very well versed in Dutch history and culture. Prior to our bike trip, he invited us into his home and showed us maps and diagrams illustrating, e.g., the various altitudes of places in Holland. (I was shocked to learn that the airport is below sea level!) He also brought along diagrams and other illustrations so that he could teach us about the history and culture of the land. I will never remember all he taught us that day, but the information helped put many of the sights into perspective! And it wasn't overdone. I felt like I was on a bike ride, not getting a history lesson. Edmond communicated very well prior to our visit. We knew what to expect and he answered all questions. We met him at the Central Station in Amsterdam and rode the train out to his house in Weesp. He invited us into his home in order to use the bathroom and to give us some history and other information about our trip. He had already rented bikes for us - we gave him info prior to the trip that helped him get the proper sized bikes. He provided a home-made lunch for a small reasonable fee - cheese and home baked bread. My husband couldn't eat the cheese so Edmond prepared a special lunch at our request. All was delicious and perfect! I honestly felt like we spent the day with a friend biking around the countryside. Edmond is such a delightful person. I couldn't have been more pleased with this tour! It was the highlight of our trip!!!

We have lived in Europe and traveled back many times and this was the best tour we have ever done! It was personalized and a great price. We loved the homemade lunch and getting pictures sent to us after we arrived home. Our family is Dutch and we were even sent information about Dutch traditions. We would highly recommend this tour to everyone!!

This was truly an amazing bike tour, we got more than we paid for for sure. Edmond was extremely hospitable and very flexible in terms of Where we went. He took photos along the way and emailed them to us. He is a great historian. Our tour lasted close to 8 hours, and he saw us safely on the train at the end of the tour. I have done a great deal of tours in many countries, and I recommend a private tour with Edmond.

This was the BEST trip we had while in Holland. The guide was so knowledgeable and was prompt in meeting us. Our schedule was a bit difficult but he worked around our requests. The ride was about 3 hours with many informative stops. The pace was perfect. If there is one cycling tour you are considering, TAKE THIS ONE!

Everything, from start to finish...

Everything, from start to finish, was seamless. Edmund was an excellent guide, prepared, informative, enthusiastic, and relaxed about customizing options for our day. My son 16 and I met Edmund at Amsterdam Central Station and went 15 minutes out of the city to the charming town of Weesp to start our adventure. The cycling was terrific. We asked Edmund to provide lunch, which was perfect, including buns made from organic flour from the windmill we visited. Edmund is a historical, and we enjoyed learning about The Netherlands! Highly recommended!
