Check two New York landmarks off your bucket list on this exciting guided tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Start the tour by getting early Reserve Line Access boarding on the ferry to Liberty Island. Once there, go inside the pedestal of the statue (if upgrade selected) and head to the observation decks for an awesome view of New York City and its surroundings. Then hop back on the ferry to Ellis Island to learn about the intriguing history of immigration to America that took place here between 1892 and 1954.
  • Guided visit to the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island
  • Explore the grounds at Liberty Island and upgrade for pedestal access
  • View exhibits at the Great Hall inside the Immigration Museum on Ellis Island
  • Early Reserve Line boarding on the ferry to Liberty Island and Ellis Island

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

Get early-morning departure and reserve ferry boarding on your way to Ellis Island—rare perks.
After meeting your guide on the southern tip of Manhattan, board the ferry. Enjoy your early Reserve Line Access boarding to avoid the crowds. During the ride to Liberty Island learn about the history of the famous statue and learn about how perceptions of Lady Liberty have changed over the decades and generations.

Once on the island, take a guided tour of the Liberty Island grounds.
Take in the sights of the New York skyline as well as New Jersey and Ellis Island. Access to the Liberty Island Museum is included. If you've upgraded, head into the pedestal of the statue and then up to the observation decks for a superlative view of the surroundings.

After some time, hop back on the ferry and cruise over to Ellis Island, as your guide give you the historic low-down on the millions of immigrants that passed through here between 1892 and 1954.

After reaching Ellis Island, explore the place deeper with your guide by wandering around the Great Hall and taking in the exhibitions that explain further about the 12 million people that passed through here. Learn also how Americans can trace their ancestry here.

You are on your own for the remainder of the visit, staying as long as you want before you return to Manhattan.

Please note the earliest tour has the least wait. Later tours encounter longer wait times.

We booked a Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Tour through Viator the second week of March, 2020. This was a small group of 12 with an outstanding tour guide. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant. It was a real highlight of our New York visit.

Cody was very knowledgeable and gave interesting talks. I highly recommend this tour. However I did not realize you had to have a ticket that needed to be purchased 4-6 months in advance to have access to the torch.
The Highlight of Our Stay in N:ew York

Everyone needs to see this piece of history. I would also recommend paying for a tour guide. Ben was our guide and was outstanding. He added so much to it and the fact he had researched his great-grandparents passage through Ellis Island was a huge +. Ben made the tour real personal and couldn’t have been more helpful. When you book this tour, ask for Ben.

You Will Love It!

This tour was so worth it! Nothing to worry about as far as lines, which boat to take, how to get into the attractions, when to arrive, when to leave, what to do, whatnot to do. All the stress was taken out of the excursion, especially for visitors who don't know NYC well. Love the Statue of Liberty Tour bus especially loved Ellis island. SO fascinating - especially seeing the hall and the different rooms, and all the photos of the immigrants. Can't believe we have never been there before. And - KUDOS to our tour guide, Mark, who was absolutely amazing. He MADE the tour what it was!! Give this man a raise! His sense of humor was just our cup of tea. He is a pseudo-historian, impressario, theatre guru, dining expert, and has a wealth of knowledge about everything New York because he loves the city! We hope to see him on Broadway sometime soon!
