Great way to spend half a day for both tourists and NYers Alike

Alyssa, our tour guide, was excellent. She was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. The tour is worth while, but expect the initial security line to take some time prior to boarding the ferry to Liberty Island. The Ellis Island museum after is ok and can be skipped, though we were given a great overview by Alyssa prior to entering the museum.

Guide (Alyssa) didn’t really lead group. Left without us on several instances through security checkpoints without giving us proper guidance on where to go. Will not use again.

Ask for James for your tour guide! He was AMAZING! He’s a super fun and chill guy and you’re learning a ton of really great info! Next time I’m in NYC I’m booking tons of tours with him! (Also seeing the statue and Ellis Island was incredible. Talk about a plunge into history.)

Not as Advertised!

The tour was not as advertised on the Viator website. The statue pedestal was not open as indicated on the website and as verified by the Viator staff member I contacted by phone. There were other discrepancies on the website as well such a pick up and drop, off at your hotel which was also not available. The actual tour operator, Top Dog Tours, did a very good job with limited access at the two tour stops.

It was difficult to know who the tour guide was. He or she should be holding Viator and Top dog signs. also, Viator should say the tour guide will be holding a flag specifically in the directions. Also, our group tour guide person was okay. He was passive aggressive in front of my group. At the same time, I did learn good amount about Statue of Liberty and Ellis island.
