Overview

Combine a Hell’s Kitchen food tour with a walk through Central Park during this NYC tour, and fit more sightseeing into one day. Start by sampling food including Middle Eastern, Latin, and Cajun dishes in Hell’s Kitchen, and then discover the secrets of Central Park. Visit lesser-known sections of the sprawling green space unknown to most tourists, and hear fun facts from your guide.
  • Sample Middle Eastern, Indonesian, and Latin specialties in Hell's Kitchen
  • Walk through Central Park and learn its secrets and history
  • Visit parts of the park that are unknown to most visitors
  • A small group limited to eight people provides an intimate experience
Discover the lesser known highlights of New York’s Central Park and Hell’s Kitchen during this 4-hour combination food and walking tour. Visitors and locals alike are sure to make some new discoveries during this culinary-themed walking tour and visit to the Big Apple’s most popular park.

Make your way to L’ybane restaurant in Hell’s Kitchen in the afternoon, where you’ll meet your experienced guide to begin your excursion in this fascinating area. Located just west of Times Square, this long-overlooked neighborhood offers an incredible array of food, culture and nightlife options for those willing to look beyond the usual Big Apple highlights.

Begin your food crawl to some of the many ethnic eateries lining this busy neighborhood’s blocks. As you proceed you’ll snack on hush puppies, chow down on baba ghanoush and cap it all off with a mouth-watering doughnut and ice cream sandwich. You’ll have enough to eat during this part of your day to count for a full lunch.

Continue your tour by burning off your food with a walk to nearby Central Park. One of the world’s most iconic (and historic) green spaces has a wealth of off-the-beaten track attractions for those that know where to look. Ever wonder how much the land inside the park is worth? Heard of Shakespeare’s Garden? Where do you end up if you take the only straight path in the park? Each of these queries will be explained as you make your way through this outdoor wonderland.

Check out areas of Central Park few non-locals will ever explore, including one secluded spot that feels a million miles away from the concrete of the Big Apple. You’ll cover approximately 3 miles (5 kilometers) total, walking at a moderate pace. Finish your trip in the park, allowing you the option to continue your exploration on your own.
Itinerary
Stop At:
Manhattan Walking Tour
Make your way to midtown Manhattan to meet your expert guide and head off to explore one of New York City’s most bustling and diverse neighborhoods. Hell’s Kitchen may sound imposing, but it’s a very welcoming and culturally rich part of town. Once a rough-and-tumble neighborhood filled with poor Irish-Americans, Hell’s Kitchen today is a safe area, its streets flanked by ethnic eateries. Stop by restaurants to munch on baba ghanoush, bourekas and the pièce de résistance: a doughnut and ice cream sandwich with lots of toppings. Sample enough food on this portion of the tour to make a full lunch. Next, walk off those calories by following your guide to Central Park. The greatest urban park in the world holds many intriguing secrets. Can you guess what Central Park’s real estate value is? Can you guess how long it took to build Central Park? Where does the only straight path in the park lead? These are some of the questions that will be answered as you explore the park. Go to parts of the park many people don’t know about, including a spot that feels as if you’re miles and miles from the urban jungle that is New York City. Expect to walk about 3 miles (5 km) in all, at a comfortable pace; Hell’s Kitchen is flat, and Central Park is a little hilly. The tour ends at Central Park, leaving you free to continue to explore the city on your own.

Highly recommend this tour. The food was awesome but the stroll through Hell's Kitchen and Central Park was outstanding. Nancy our tour guide was knowledgable and made the whole experience fantastic. Well worth the money for the tour.

This excursion is a wonderful history and food experience for Hell's Kitchen and New York in general. Our tour guide, Annabel, was a pure delight. She was personal, professional and a plethora of knowledge on New York's history, culture and ongoing changes. The trip included 5 tastings from different restaurants residing in Hell's Kitchen. Each represented a different country that has found it's home in the bustling city. The tour was well-paced and is definitely a tour for individuals with better mobility. Beautiful tour, beautiful guide and great food and scenery. Would do it again in a heart beat!

I absolutely loved the tour I went on. Nancy was lots of fun and very knowledgeable of both Central Park and the Hells Kitchen area. She selected great restaurants, all of which I would return to for a full meal. The food was great and I love going to family owned restaurants! Having an insider view of Central Park was amazing. I would definitely recommend this tour and our amazing tour guide, Nancy.

Great food tour with a brilliant guide, Nancy. The restaurants and cafes we visited were off the beaten tourist track but the food was really good. Nancy was a knowledgable guide who constantly made sure all of us tourists were good in the heat. Her commentary made the day, highly recommended.

Ms Nancy was very knowledgeable and showed her love for the area on our tour. She paid attention to everyone in the group and had rain ponchos in her bag. Our private tour of Central Park was awesome. Thank you!!

Fantastic tour!! Billy was amazing, extremely friendly, knowledgeable and a fantastic tour guide. The places he took us to eat were incredible and we would have never found them had he not shown us. While walking he also pointed out other places to vist all while giving us the history about the area we were walking through. To round off the afternoon he took us on a wonderful factual tour around Central Park. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic afternoon!

I have lived in New York for 34 years and thought I knew everything about New York until I took this food tour. I took my family on the Hell’s Kitchen and Central Park tour with Anna Belle. Let me start by saying Anna Belle was the best. I have gone on numerous food tours in other states and no one compares to her. She was kind and knowledgeable and engaging. Her knowledge of numerous topics and desire to give you the best tour possible was evident. I would highly suggest recommending her as your tour guide. And now to the most important part the food...every restaurant we went to was fantastic. On our way home my family and I tried to pick out our favorite food and we were all deadlocked. Between the different cultures and entrees everything was incredible. Furthermore our tour of Central Park was delightful and educational after hours of eating. I would recommend this tour to anyone whether you’re a native New Yorker or a tourist. From,Luba “the liberal”
