John was a wealth of knowledge about the unique and very economical way southerners deal with their dead. I had no idea each tomb could hold so many people. It’s definitely worth a visit.

John was cool. Loaded with information! Never realized how many specific groups were interred within the cemetery, nor the relationship between voodoo and Catholicism. My gal and I dug it. Cheers

Great tour. John did a great job of explaining the cemetery in an interesting and entertaining manner as well as relating it to the broader history of New Orleans. I enjoyed the tour and learned something too.

Our tour guide was awesome! We never thought that we would learn so much. Knowing the history of the graves was really interesting. My sons fathers family comes from this part of Louisiana. We have traced them all of the way back to the 1700’s. Not sure where they are all buried, so we were looking to see if we saw any familiar surnames.
