Why Travelers Choose This Tour

The Steamboat Natchez is the last paddlewheel ship still operating in New Orleans. And this is the only tour where you get a private look around the boat and the engine room, complete with souvenirs.
Choose one of two evening start times for your VIP dinner cruise and head to Toulouse Street in the French Quarter to board the beautiful Steamboat Natchez. When you step on board, you'll also step back in time as calliope music fills the air and the captain’s voice pours through an antique megaphone.

Your VIP experience begins with a personal reception. Ship staff will greet you with a complimentary Champagne cocktail in a souvenir etched glass. Pose for a photo op to capture the moment; you’ll take home a print to mark the special occasion. Then, follow your host (who may even be the captain) on an insider tour of the vessel to see all the workings of the ship including the engine room and the enormous paddlewheel.

Afterward, you’ll be escorted to your reserved seat, where you’ll get unobstructed views of the striking New Orleans shoreline at dusk, and a performance by the Grammy‐nominated jazz group Dukes of Dixieland. Wet your palate with fresh shrimp cocktail and a glass of wine. As for dinner, the buffet might include anything from cornmeal‐crusted fish to creole creamed spinach. Top it off with Natchez’s signature bread pudding accompanied by coffee and tea. Read on to the Itinerary section below for a sample menu.

Once you have wined and dined, take a stroll across the deck or sit back in your seat and enjoy live jazz. The music plays on until the evening cruise ends back at the departure point in the French Quarter. Take home a complimentary Steamboat Natchez souvenir etched glass and Dukes of Dixieland CD as tokens of your magical night aboard the Steamboat Natchez.

Upgrade option:

Receive all the luxuries of the original tour, but include an open bar (call‐brand select cocktails, beer, and house wine) for the entire duration of the cruise.

The Perfect Night

From start to finish, our host Jordan, looked after us like we were royalty. We got a table set up outside to enjoy the view of the river and city at night and then while we went on our tour of the boat with the captain, they moved the table to the other side of the boat, as it was more sheltered. Jourdan served us drinks all night, basically whatever we wanted and although it was a buffett dinner, we selected what we would like and he even brought the food to us at our table. We also got a lovely gift bag to take home with some nice momentos of our night. I would thoroughly recommend getting the vip package for a special occasion, like a birthday or anniversary or even if like us, you come from out of town and want to do something special.

VIP Tour Steamboat Natchez

Amazing experience. The captain and the concierge, Gina, met us at the loading area with a bottle of water and a smile. The captain escorted us on a private tour of the ship. Boilers, engine room, paddle wheel, etc and explained the history of the ship as well as the history of the steam engines. We were met during the tour by Gina with two glasses of champagne. We were then taken upstairs to the balcony area and placed at a small table with shrimp cocktails, more champagne and ordered drinks. After a short time, we were escorted into the dining room to enjoy more drinks and an excellent buffet of food. After dinner, we went upstairs and enjoyed the Jazz band. Before leaving the ship, we were given a gift bag with pictures of our experience. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone.

Perfect Activity for a Pre-Celebration

It was our daughters first time in New Orleans and we wanted to give them a highlight of all the wonderful things to do. Being able to do a dinner cruise on the the Natchez was a great opportunity. Having booked the VIP experience we were able to move along to the front of the line and the host took care of us from the start to the end. The kids really enjoyed the engine room tour and learning about the boat. We highly recommend it.

Golden Mississippi Cruise

My wife Donna and I booked this tour to celebrate 50 years of marriage. We were pleasantly surprised to find out we were the only ones that had booked the VIP cruise that night. The tour of the Natchez by Captain Steve was very informative. Our personal Host Jourdan S. was exceptional. After finding out that we were celebrating our Golden Anniversary he had a Private table setup for us at the stern of the boat just in front of the Paddle wheel. We also had reserved tables on both sides of the deck so we could enjoy Appetizers and Deserts and view the City as we passed by. This was the best and most unexpected experience we have had. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We would highly recommend the VIP Tour.

we took the vip open bar package and it did not disappoint. Jason was so helpful. He was making sure we were happy and got our drinks, desert and Gumbo for us. Great gentleman. We did the boat engine room tour and add little perks that made our cruise and dinner very special. Special coktails, appetizer, reserved tables inside and outside, and little momentos. we loved it so much that we told our concierge about it.
