Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Choose a morning or afternoon pickup from the French Quarter and climb aboard your coach for the ride deep into Cajun country. Watch the changing scenery as the cityscape transitions into expansive wetlands. You coach delivers you to the launch point across the Mississippi River, where you’ll transfer to an open‐sided, covered boat and set off on the fun and educational ride.

Your native guide will take you on a wildlife‐spotting expedition through this legendary Louisiana terrain. Glide along the water, viewing the lush greenery and abundant local wildlife, including nesting alligators, egrets, raccoons, snakes, and giant nutria. Some wildlife are more easily spotted during the warmer months of the year.  Get great photos and learn about the history and mystery of the swamps, including the culture and ingenuity of the Cajun people who have populated this region for almost 250 years. Your guides will share stories about Cajun music, bayou lifestyle, and culinary traditions — like the creation of Louisiana’s signature gumbo, as well as information about the region’s passionate efforts to preserve the wetlands.

Your coach returns to the French Quarter by mid‐afternoon or evening.

It was a distinctive experience to indulge in one of nature’s wonders and watch how this spectacular ecosystem survives. Unfortunately it was a rainy day, could see some crocodiles through the marsh though and our guide fed them marshmallows. Highlight was when we could hold a baby gator :D

Poor communication and pick up instructions. I arrived at the time indicated and the bus left before the time indicated. Was told they would come back but never did. I was told by the representative that they were too far out to turn back and that they had mechanical problems with the boat. The departure time was 12:45pm I wasn’t late yet was left behind. I will not be doing tours with this company.

No social distancing/masks
MarieJennifer_M
, Jul 2020
The guide was good. But during this pandemic your tour description reassured social distancing and mask wearing. No one was enforcing the wearing of masks and there was definitely NO social distancing observed. We try to live as normal (new normal) as possible. With lack of control and following new guidelines we have to re-think about joining any tours.
