Overview

Journey back in time to when cotton was king and New Orleans was a budding port town that dazzled visitors with its colorful Creole culture. Board the historic Steamboat Natchez for a morning or afternoon float down the mighty Mississippi. Stroll the deck, admire the iconic paddlewheel, enjoy live music and snap picturesque shots of the beautiful urban shoreline. This family‐friendly excursion offers an optional buffet lunch (additional expense).
  • Steamboat Natchez Harbor Cruise
  • See the bustling activity of America's second largest port
  • Select option to add on a delicious buffet meal for mid-day departure
  • View the skyline of 'The Crescent City' from the decks or climate-controlled comfort of the Steamer Natchez

Why Travelers Choose This Tour

With an optional buffet lunch, this daytime cruise on an authentic steamboat is a hit with families.
Guarantee a spot on this popular cruise aboard one of the city’s last remaining steamboats by booking a ticket in advance. Choose a morning or afternoon start time and head to Toulouse Street in the French Quarter to board the beautiful Steamboat Natchez—one of the last boats of its kind in New Orleans. The historic vessel particularly appeals to boat enthusiasts and history buffs, who can linger over the vintage decor and museum-quality engine room.

Stroll the deck as the Natchez begins its cruise along the Mississippi River. Then, find a seat in the cabin or outside, where you can admire unobstructed views of the striking ‘Crescent City’ shoreline and enjoy live jazz music. Learn some riverside history as you pass sites like the Chalmette Battlefield, where the famous pirate and privateer Jean Lafitte teamed with Andrew Jackson to defeat British invaders in the Battle of New Orleans.

Purchase an optional buffet lunch to sample an array of sumptuous Louisiana fare from cornmeal-crusted fish and red beans and rice to Natchez’s signature bread pudding and fresh fruit. (Full menu included below). Coffee and tea are included with your lunch, or you may purchase adult beverages.

Your river cruise ends back at the departure point in New Orleans with plenty of time to sightsee!

Lunch was good need to add fruits to the menu. The jazz band was boring, maybe a second-line bang could do first hour, and jazz band 2nd hour.

It's Worth It

I enjoyed the cruise. It is worth it to see the Domino Sugar Plant and there is a great view of the New Orleans skyline when returning. The narrator's comments were not totally correct. The Algiers Ferry runs every hour from each side, not every fifteen minutes. I'm not sure the eradication of native americans happened in 1500 either. Social distancing was kinda sorta enforced, but masks were required and temperature was taken before boarding.
