Great experience

Tours by Isabelle was amazing René our driver was super nice and super knowledgeable we learned so much! The swamp tour was the absolute best! The plantations was ok nice to see wish they talked more about the slaves not just the slave owner. Over all we had a really good time.

Good morning and thank you so much Miss Jessica for this five star review! I am so glad you enjoyed our historian Driver Guide and our Cajun Airboat captain as well! I am sure you remember that the guided tour at Laura plantation spent a good amount of time giving history and life stories of the enslaved as they brought you inside of authentic slave cabins in the back of the big house. However I will definitely bring that important point up to the management at Houmas House. On your next trip down to NOLA, please book our tour with the ‘Whitney plantation and Museum of Slavery’, to visit there, as that tour is completely dedicated to the plight of the enslaved in the South!

Comparing Two Different Plantations and Swamp tour

Brian was our tour guide during the swamp tour. He was very knowledgeable and he guided our boat so the we were able to see different birds and several alligators. Seeing two different plantations was very interesting and educational, and gave us an appreciation of history. Plus. The the lunch we were served at one of the plantations was so local and delicious.

Informative and lively could have a little more time at Oak Alley to walk the grounds. Lora was a good contrast to Oal Alley.

This tour is as advertised! It was an amazing ride on the swamp boat with Mr Torres. He is a fifth generation Cajun! The plantation tours were informative. Not enough time to see everything at Oak Alley. Loved the history behind Laura.

Amazing

This tour was amazing. I highly recommend it. The lunch was a buffet on the grounds of Oak Alley. We saw a good amount of alligators despite it being a chilly day. The tour guides at every location we went to knew so much and were able to provide knowledge in a fun way. Wasn't bored the whole 9 hours!!

Wow, Ms Brittany, that is wonderful! So very glad you enjoyed our Grand tour and truly found it 'Grand' ! Yes, the alligators have started to come out of hibernation and we love that! Thank you Ma'm!

Informative and Entertaining

Very informative, with an entertaining hostess! Gisèle offered a lot of trivia as we drove from stop to stop, and of course the three stops along the tour were also great. I highly recommend the Laura plantation's tour, which is included in this package, for a well balanced story of plantation owners as both highly clever and innovative people, and also cruel opportunists who capitalized on slavery.

Jam-Packed historical day!

What a fabulous experience! The communication was easy and our tour guide for Tours by Isebelle came right to our hotel and picked us up despite not being on the list of pick up locations. The ride to the bayous was full of Louisiana history. Our ride down the bayou included wildlife (gators, a bald eagle, egrets, and herons) and more history. Another short ride brought us to Oak Alley where we tried traditional Cajun cuisine. I liked that lunch was included, but would have preferred getting to select my food. The plantation was picturesque and the tour while it provided us with information was a bit scripted. Our final stop was Laura Plantation and I have to say that by far this was one of the best plantation tours I have ever been on. The tour guide (Rose) truly loves the history of the plantation and is incredibly knowledgeable. The story of the plantation came to life with her account. Overall we had a fabulous time and it was nice to get out of NOLA for the day!

A nice time

The swamp boat was highly entertaining, but bundle up! The lunch was A++++. The plantation tours back to back were nice to show the difference between the different types. The trip covered a lot of ground, so I don’t think we could help but be rushed. It would have been nice to explore a bit on our own after the structured tours though.

We enjoyed getting to swamp land and plantations. If cool outside, I would recommend going later in the day as we didn’t get to see a ton of gators. They were not out yet. Otherwise, fantastic day!
