Pretty rough...and not as advertised.

David was a wonderful, sweet individual I would have loved to have a beer with, but the tour was advertised as "voodoo and cemetery tour" which is why my daughters wanted to go. Within the first few minutes David stated that he isn't into that voodoo stuff and this will be more a historical tour. Ok, fine...but he didn't follow any recognizable script and his story line was really hard to follow. We paid attention, but the tour would benefit tremendously from a clear concept of what the guests should get out of it. It felt a lot like a shotgun approach of information randomly picked from the past 300 years sprinkled with tidbits over and over how "crazy" New Orleans is. Davis was sweet and animated, but I felt this was a missed opportunity.

Great tour guide; very...

Great tour guide; very entertaining with a comprehensive history of New Orleans. It was disappointing to not be able to enter the cemeteries, but they made up for it by adding an overview of additional areas, and we still got to see the graves from outside the gates. The tour was 3 hours instead of 2, but we didn’t mind on such a beautiful day.

The guide made the experience!

Our guide was absolutely amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable , engaging and charismatic. Their website was very clear about the cemeteries being closed and only visible through gates. However we booked through viator, and they gave us no information regarding their closures. The experience was enriched by the guide and his knowledge and view on local history.

Our tour guide David Higgins was FANTASTIC! Our Uber ran late and he waited for us past the start time. He was very entertaining, funny and gave us a lot of real knowledge of not just the cemeteries but New Orleans in general. Me and my friends really enjoyed the tour!

Our tour guide was incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable! Even though the cemeteries were closed, we learned so much, and it was still worth it to get to see everything else.

Very informative

Our tour guide was very nice as he guided us to cemeteries 1 and 2. Although we weren't allowed inside, he still provided lots of cool facts about places and people. He took us by the church as well as Louis Armstrong Park, both of which were beautiful. Our final stop was where Marie Laveaus house used to be. Even when the tour was finished, he was still very helpful to tell us where we needed to go since we weren't familiar with the area.

Viator does NOT provide good customer service!
Marlo_B
, Nov 2020
The main complaint I have is VIATOR! They did not inform me that the Cemeteries in NOLA are all CLOSED due to COVID-19. They did not give Historic Tours and/or Rob MY information so they could contact me regarding this. I finally called Rob and he was very gracious, offering me a solo tour next day with a very good tour guide, David Higgins. Kudos to Historic Tours and thumbs down for Viator!
