Day Tour of Delhi: Old and New with Local Experts

Receive a morning pickup from your Delhi hotel or a location of your choosing. You’ll travel through the city aboard a private air-conditioned minivan, starting your trip with a driving-based tour of the city.

Check out heritage Delhi sights including the 1500-year old Iron Pillar, Humayun’s Tomb, and Qutub Minar. You’ll also drive past the Delhi Embassy Area, Connaught Palace, India Gate, the government area, and the city’s main shopping district. Continue the trip by passing through the walled gates of Delhi’s Old City, stopping to visit the Jamma Mosque and the Chadni Chowk (Moonlight Square), a popular shopping area. You’ll also get to visit the Raj Ghat, along with some of the other “ghats” where famous Indian figures like Mahatma Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Indira Gandhi were cremated.

Finish your Delhi exploration by climbing aboard a three-wheeled rickshaw pedaled by a “Rickshawalla” (rickshaw driver). You’ll weave in and out of traffic and down hidden side streets, experiencing a slice of daily life in Delhi largely hidden from most visitors. You won’t believe the range of vendors you’ll pass during your trip, including one retailer who specializes in “laughing dentures.” At the end of your rickshaw excursion, you’ll be returned to your hotel or original starting point.
