Make your own way to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park at the time that is convenient for you.

Your self-guided tour can begin anywhere you like in the 100-acre park. Take a look around the USS Alabama and get a feel for life on a battleship during World War II. As you walk around the ship, you can peak into the kitchen, doctor's quarters, radio room, and more. The ship served as a set for the 2016 movie USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, which starred actor Nicolas Cage.

Next, check out the USS Drum, the oldest American submarine on display to the public. The submarine was deployed in the Pacific theater, sinking several Japanese warships and providing reconnaissance at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Continue to the Aircraft Pavilion to view the 28 historic airplanes and military vehicles on display.

Other wars receive recognition at the military park. To honor the 100th anniversary of WWI, the Great War exhibit opened in March 2016, and memorials throughout the park include the Korean Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, the Fallen Hero’s 9/11 Memorial, and a monument for Military Service dogs.

Check the calendar for special events such as historical reenactments performed by the Living History team every other month.

Wonderful history lesson for my sons who are 10 and 15, while on our travels to Gulf Shores. My oldest was so thankful we took them there. Something he’ll never forget!

We appreciated the way the ship was completely open and allowed our quad grandsons to explore the ship.
Humbled and proud to be an American

Going thru the ship. It definitely looked like a war ship. My grandfather my father and two brothers all fought in different wars so it really brought things to my mind of what they really went through as well as all of the men on this ship. These men gave so much to protect this country and I am so proud to be an American.
Wonderful Family Fun

Excellent Learning Opportunity

The ship was incredible. We had just been to the WWII museum the day before in NOLA and it was really interesting to see the ship and read about things on a ship that was part of the war we had just learned about.
Inspiring, educational, filled me with even more pride of being an American and a veteran.

Everything. I'm a World War II history buff, and I loved it all. A cousin of mine passed away the day after we went. He was a pilot in the Air Force for 30 years, and he flew a B52. So that meant a lot to me. I knew of the USS Alabama's service in WWII, so I loved going through that too. The P-51 Mustang of the Tuskogee Airmen was great too! Like I said, everything!
Very interesting and historical

Wow. What an experience to board this vessel and see everything the sailors experienced. It takes your breath away to see the enormous guns and the size of the ship. The entire park was great to learn and see different military aircraft and submarines and the ship itself.
