Return Details

Returns to original departure point
Your tour begins in the middle of Moab where you’ll meet you professional guide, who will help you get comfortably situated inside of the off-road, 4WD vehicle. Enjoy the 30-mile (48km) drive from Moab to Canyonlands National Park, where you’ll explore the popular Island in the Sky District with its spectacular desert scenery.

Start off atop a mesa with views looking out over the horizon before your guide deftly maneuvers the switchbacks of Shafer Trail. On this section of the 100-mile (161-km) White Rim Road Loop, you’ll make stops at spectacular Gooseneck Overlook and famous Musselman Arch, and photograph vistas of the Colorado River and the view from Thelma and Louise Point.

In addition to the popular lookouts, your expert guide will take you to spots that aren’t as frequently visited, where you’ll find everything from ancient Pueblo rock art to vertical views down the canyons. You’ll learn the history of the Pueblo people who inhabited the Four Corners area, and aside from the culture and history lessons, your guide will also explain the geology of the red rock canyons before you.

When you stop for a break to take photos, venture out on one of the short trails that leave from many of the viewpoints; you’ll get a different perspective and angle for photographing the canyons.

When this Canyonlands tour from Moab is over, your guide will return you to the middle of Moab to the spot where the tour began.

Fantastic White Rim Tour

This was a fabulous 1/2 day tour through some rough, scenic route! The views were amazing. The tour took us to some high viewpoints where we could really get a sense of the lay of the land. The guide, Chris, provided a lot of flora information, rock formation information and general fun facts about movies that have been filmed in the area. We enjoyed it immensely.

Rick was our guide and he was excellent. He took us on a tour of Canyonlands and we used a back entrance to skip the long line. He was very patient with our young daughters and had snacks for them and had good stories to keep them entertained. We had great views of the park!

I would have missed so much of the quiet solitude and great landscape if I didn’t go on this trip. Aldon took us on back roads that I could have never taken without the tour. The Easter weekend was super busy elsewhere and we got away from the crowds!!! So worthwhile.

It all hinges upon your guide. Blaine knocked it out of the park. Great driver, great knowledge of the area and super easy to talk with. We went on an overcast, rainy day. An absolutely epic day.

A bit more excitement than we expected...

The tour was interesting, and the scenery beautiful. Our group included the tour operator, my husband and myself, and another couple that we did not know in a Toyota Land cruiser that had 296,000 miles on the odometer. Our tour operator took us on the tour which included unpaved, 4 wheel roads in the northeast corner of the park that had hairpin turns and beautiful views. Unfortunately, toward the end of the tour, the vehicle stopped and lost power steering and brakes. Fortunately, at that point in the tour, we were on relatively flat land and a couple of other vehicles stopped to help us so the operator was able to call for assistance. After 1 1/2 hours, the mechanic arrived, quickly determined the cause (a wire had jiggled loose) and we drove back to town. We were dropped off and thanked for taking the tour.
