Cute Penquins

The penguins were fascinating to watch, the scenery was beautiful, and the weather was perfect. We enjoyed walking on the beach and visiting the wildlife park. As we are above average in size, the bus seats were not as comfortable as I had hoped for a long trip of 12 hours.

Our tour guide Simon is great! Visited several interesting places. There was lighting so we couldn't spend much time to watch the penguins.

Hi Grace, So good to hear that you've had a great tour despite the weather! We hope to see you again in the future.

Ash was a brilliant guide . Hugely knowledgeable and coped well given it rained the whole trip and scenery never looks as good and couldn’t do beach walks. The Penguins saved the day and made the trip absolutely worthwhile although I do have concern for their future with the expansion of the centre and thousands of us tourists a certain section who don’t take instructions and use photography and stand during the parade. Stewards need to be more direct and strict to maintain order and enjoyment for all.

This trip is well worth your time. Saw many sites that I would have missed otherwise. Dwayne, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and professional.

What a magical moment! The staff was incredible and knowledgeable and the tour was fantastic! I loved seeing the wildlife and of course the penguins! The Maru park was ok, Great way to see all the animals if you have children, we were fortunate to see many of them in the wild!

How often do you get to see and hear the smallest penguines pop out of the sea? A must see excursion.

It's ok

Five stars for our guide John and driver Garrett. John did a great job of keeping us informed nd preparing us for the Penguin Parade. The penguin get ten stars. What affected this rating was the itinerary. The wildlife park is a waste unless you want to see kangaroos lying around waiting for you to feed them. Sad. Would prefer a trip that went directly to Phillip Island. Wouldn't then need the long lunch break.

Worth it for penguins! Rest was fair

The guide was ok. Not overly energetic or engaging. Bus seats were very uncomfortable and hard to get down the aisle. Awful music playing! However petting kangaroos and seeing koalas up close was fun though the place feels like a petting zoo! The penguins were awesome! Can’t even describe it to people! And it was cold. The other 2-3 stops are at little places to get you to spend $5 on a coffee or coke.

Killing time to see penguins
mandyegg2k
, Oct 2019
Felt like we were just killing time waiting for sunset to see penguins. The animal park is very small but nice. The chocolate factory a shop with high cost products. The beach, just too cold. The penguin parade was unfortunately full of ignorant people disobeying rules. Standing when told to sit. Taking photos when told not to. Again it was freezing. Take a blanket. The penguins emerge from the sea, wait for each other then as a group walk to their burrows. It's very hard to see them. We were supposed to be given lots if information. We got none. Not a thing and we were there early. We didn't stay seated long. We went to the boardwalk and luckily saw penguins up close. Yes its something unique but I wouldn't do it again.

Hi Mandy, thank you for your review! Phillip Island can get really cold with the ocean wind. A wind proof jacket and warm clothes are a good idea at this time of the year. We are also very saddened by the ignorance of some, as taking pictures is absolutely forbidden at the Penguin Parade. The flash light blinds the poor little penguins and they can get completely lost due to it, and not find home. This information is displayed in many places at the centre, and mentioned by our guides. Unfortunately not everyone choose to listen. Thank you for bringing this up!
