An different way to experience Melbourne
Brian
, Apr 2020
There was some confusion over what we had actually booked and what we were offered. We had booked the two hour cruise at 10.15 (one hour in each direction). However, because of tides and other organisational issues, we were booked onto a much later two hour cruise (12.00 midday). As this was our final morning in Melbourne (we were flying to Adelaide in the afternoon). the later cruise was not an option. So we chose just to do the 10.00am cruise, which fortunately was the harbour cruise, which we really did want to do. To be fair, it was excellent. The commentary given by the skipper was very good - clear, full, lively and very interesting. We did feel a bit hard done by - a one hour cruise for the price of a two hour cruise.

Seeing the city along the river

The Melbourne Cruise was good. The captain did know his stuff, but a tad monotonous. The first side was better then the second side, but I guess it filled up a gap in the day.

Best bit is Getting off at the end

This trip (I can’t call it a cruise!) was pretty low in terms of scenery and tour guide description. All there is to see is a selection of high rise buildings, a container terminal and a lot of cranes. The driver gives a sleepy half uninterested commentary which is difficult to understand some of the time. Sorry but this was a waste of money

Great cruise!

Great cruise to give an overall perspective of Melbourne from the water. Only criticism is that the commentary was very hard to hear - audio guides would much improve this experience.

This was a very enjoyable cruise and Captain Chris was great, he was good fun and explained everything to us very well when we had a question, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Pretty good value for money - the captain was the best part. Very knowledgeable and entertaining to listen to.

Disappointing

I don’t recommend this. Very slow and don’t see that much. We ended up leaving halfway through as it stopped where we started and said the next leg wasn’t for 30 minutes. We chose to not finish as it was so slow we could see more on our own.

Suffer loss without help from ticketing lady
ngchanshukkwan
, Jul 2018
This package included both cruise A and B. Unfortunately, the tide was high and only cruise B was possible. The lady (Chinese) at the ticketing centre only commented she did not know what she could do for me!! Due to construstion, the boarding place changed from Berth 5 to another wharf and thus need additional waiting time

Not bad really but it seems like the ferry takes the same route with far less cost. Guide had some good insights but hard to hear at times.
