Sunset dinner
, Sep 2021
I give it 4 stars because the people were amazing that were working. The overall vibe was awesome. The food was okay. When we received the Menu online for the food that would be served it mentioned a couple items that were not actually served. That would be my only complaint. All in all it was a beautiful sunset and the drinks were great.

Thank You for taking the time to share your experience. I am glad the crew was amazing, and the overall vibe awesome. I am not sure what specific food items you are referring to, stated on the menu that you were not served. Appetizers include assorted cheeses and artisan crackers and fresh fruit platters. For dinner, we serve fall off the bone baby back ribs, ginger shoyu chicken, served with oven roasted fresh vegetables, and for dessert, a wonderful mango-lilikoi cheese cake. Sorry about the confirmation menu error. we will look into that. I'm pleased that all in all you had a beautiful sunset, great drinks, and enjoyed the crew and entertainment.
Expecting a better experience

Great crew, but I couldn't enjoy the sunset view due to the hula dancing. I didn't want to be rude and by pass them. Also, my family and I felt rushed with getting our drinks, food. Not enough time to relax and enjoy.

We appreciate guests who appreciate what our Maui Sunset Luau Cruise is really about. Our Polynesian Dancers, Maka and Kimo have studied the art of Polynesian Dance since childhood, and come from a long lineage of family who’ve also studied the art of hula. Their Masterful Performance in an intimate setting is an opportunity to experience something very special. But, you have to be the kind of person who is looking for a unique cultural experience I suppose, to not view them as a distraction. The sprawling upper deck where they perform offers over 1,000 square feet of unobstructed panoramic views of the ocean, sunset, and coast. There are wide open spaces throughout the vessel and It’s simply not possible for the performers to block the view of the sunset. A cultural immersion of genuine Polynesian song and dance, as the sun slowly sets is nothing short of magical. I’m perplexed by your inability to relax in general, and feel perhaps this just wasn’t the right experience for you. I don’t know that I’ve ever had a guest tell me they felt rushed at any time during our 2 hour cruise. Fortunately, the vast majority of our guests appreciate the magic of what this tour represents, and are elated at the overall cultural experience. Mahalo, Scott
So so

While the dancers and bartenders are Amazing, parking is a mess. Food is only okay and they seem rushed. Not worth the value at the price in my opinion.
Average cruise
, Sep 2021
We have been a many sunset cruises in Maui. This cruise was average and minimalistic. Directions for. He kin and parking were lacking and would encourage more signage and instruction in advance communications. The captains safety talk was well down. However, the drinks were watery, the food overall average and crew interactions minimal. Suggest the captain provide points of interest and/or landmarks. The entertainment was good. Overall we would not recommend or sail this excursion again.
Love, Luau, and Lemon Pie

Awesome trip!!!! Kimo and his wife are just an amazing couple. They are hard workers, great dancers, full of energy, very social and fun fun fun. I highly recommend this trip. Also, the Mai Tais are delicious and the food is yummy. I especially liked the ribs and the key lime pie!!

Aloha, Thank You for your kind words about Kimo and Maka. We are so fortunate they are part of our amazing team! Chef Tania has worked so hard to perfect her sauces and marinades over the last twenty years. I am glad you enjoyed the food, entertainment and mai-tais. Thanks again, Scott
Sunsets and lu’aus!

I can’t say enough about this sunset cruise, it was amazing!! The captain was so friendly and professional, the bartenders and lu’au dancers exceptional and the other girl tht handles the buffet worked so hard— I would do it again if I had more time on the island— most gorgeous sunset on the water.

Aloha Maria, Thank you for commending the professionalism of my guys. I am glad you felt that the food and entertainment were awesome! We truly have put a lot into creating what guests like yourself are really showing great appreciation for. After 40 plus years in the islands, and having experienced much of the culture and beauty of Hawaii Nei, I am honored that Kimo and Maka are passionate to share their genuine Aloha with our guests, through the language and art of Polynesian dance and song. It really is quite special to experience in an intimate setting, offshore as we cruise along the majestic coast, enjoying freshly prepared delicious food, with a premium open bar. Great Hula Dancers!
, Aug 2021
The outstanding part of this cruise was the lovely couple that not only tend bar but provide the Hawaiian entertainment.. a variety of hula dances. The open bar is genuinely open and the food portions are generous. The Viator description said the cruise was close to the Molokini Crater. I wrongly assumed that meant a sail further into the ocean. We went out a bit then along the coast. If not for the hula dancing, it would have been very boring. There was no view of any crater. Other staff were friendly. We are very punctual to these things and are tired of waiting for the people who can't be bothered to be on time. If we drank and ate more, this would have been much better value!

Aloha and thank you for sharing. We are so proud of Kimo and Maka and the true Aloha they share with our guests through song and Polynesian dance. I’m glad you appreciated the generous portions of our freshly prepared delicious food and the premium open bar. It’s unfortunate you were confused, though Viator sells two completely different excursions which we offer. You must have read about our morning Molokini Crater Snorkeling Tour as well as our Hawaiian Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise. Occasionally, due to unusually heavy traffic, because of an accident, or other event causes some of guests to be delayed. When this happens, as it did last week, when a small brush fire closed one lane of traffic on the highway, we will delay departure by 10-15 minutes allowing those stuck in traffic by no fault of their own, to join us, especially since they’ve been stuck in traffic so long, and in many cases while on vacation it may be the only opportunity they have to join the cruise. When this occurs the Captain will return to the harbor later to give our guests the full 2 hour cruise experience. The view of Maui’s majestic coast, from offshore is nothing short of stunning and part of what makes the sunset and Polynesian show so inspiring. It’s unfortunate your confusion about the different tours we offer kept you from fully appreciating the beauty found along the scenic coast. Mahalo

Dancers were excellent...
, Aug 2021
Dancers were excellent and kind. Food was poor, like it was reheated premade food from Costco. Would not recommend as a dinner cruise.

Thankfully, there are many reviews about our Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise which disagree. Our food is prepared in our own commercial kitchen just minutes from the harbor, and served fresh. Chef Tania’s recipes and sauces have been refined over the past twenty years and there are many guests who appreciate the work that goes into providing delicious fall off the bone baby back ribs, tender and juicy Shoyu chicken, oven roasted vegetables, coconut infused caramelized sweet potato, and mango-lilikoi cheese cake for dessert. Our Polynesian dancers are great. Thanks for sharing. Our premium open bar is a nice touch as well.

Not your typical luau
, Aug 2021
Thumbs up from the whole familia! Excellent crew, fabulous service, great food, interactive & intimate luau...can't beat the view. Totally worth it, so glad we opted for this cruise rather than a traditional luau, especially since our family loves the water.

Aloha Kakahiaka, Thank You for reaching out to describe your experience with us aboard the Maui Sunset Luau Dinner Cruise. Ours is a unique Polynesian entertainment experience, out on the ocean aboard a beautiful, spacious and stable boat, in the company of an exceptional crew, enjoying delicious freshly prepared food, a premium open bar, and Polynesian dance and song, performed by Kimo and Maka, whose genuine Aloha Spirit and passion for Hawaii are presented in an intimate setting. Relax, as the sun slowly sets behind the horizon. The views from offshore are stunning and there truly is no better way to experience Maui. Thank You again for sharing your experience!
