Wasn't our first choice but so happy we took this tour

To be honest my wife, adult daughter and I really wanted to take the Cassis and Bandol wine tour but due to the dates of our stay in Marseille we were unable to book that tour so we booked the Aix-en-Provence tour. What a great tour we had. From the start our driver and guide Eric really knew his stuff and set the day up beautifully with his friendly and engaging personality. We visited three wineries over the course of the day, each with a distinct character yet also representative of the Cote de Provence style. I must admit that although I didn't mind rose wine it wasn't on any of my lists of favourite wines however after the tour I gained an entirely different perspective about this style of wine and what to look for when buying a rose. In addition we also tried some red wines from a winery at Luberon which is at the northern extremity of the Cote de Provence and quite near to the Cote de Rhone and we tried some lovely red wines there. We bought a lovely bottle of syrah which we enjoyed the next evening back in Marseille with a juicy home cooked entrecote. During the tour we spent about 90 minutes in Aix-en-Provence for lunch. It is a lovely town but was very busy so would advise for lunch either buying a sandwich at a boulangerie or eat at one of the cafes/restos in Cours Mirabeau about 150-200metres up from Fontaine de la Rotonde. We also got up close and personal with Mt Victoire at the first winery visited and the visuals were stunning. Lots of great photo opportunities. All in all we had a great day and learned a lot, due to Erique's excellent knowledge, about the local wines. I would thoroughly recommend this tour based on our experience.

Brilliant day out and excellent tour guide

I bought this experience as a gift for my partner and it was brilliant. The three vineyards showed how different wines can be across the region and our tour guide was very knowledgable. My partner is a bit of a wine expert and I sit very much in the “like drinking it” camp but the information was at the right level for both people. Would highly recommend to get a steer of the areas and help think of where else you may want to visit.
