Continue up the mountain area with a camel ride, and take in stunning scenic views as you go. Afterward, your guide drives you up to Imlil Valley where you can rest on a terrace to enjoy a cup of Moroccan tea and a piece of cake. Your guide asks you a few options for the rest of the day, including how long of a walk you’d like to take and if you’d prefer to drive, walk, or ride a mule to your next stop.

Once you’ve decided, set out for Ait Souka Village. Lunch is waiting for you and your group. Experience a traditional Berber lunch, including salad, tajine, couscous, and fruit. At the village, follow your guide to the home of a Berber family, and learn about their culture and way of life before heading over to Moulay Brahim near the Asni Valley.

Your day ends with a quiet drive back to Marrakech. Get dropped back off at your hotel when you reach the city. Tours end at different times depending on the options you choose while in the Imlil Valley.

we weren't expecting the French and hated it,

we were collected from the cafe de France in the Medina because the taxi could not get to our Riad. there was already a family of 4 French in all the best seats and talking to the driver. the camel ride as advertised was good especially as there were some baby camels. we tried to communicate with the French but they were not very friendly because we could speak French. they kept their seats the whole day and never offered to swop with us to give us a good view. the driver could have suggested it but failed to do so as he talked to them in French whenever he could, laughing and joking. He struggled with his English so he only spoke to us when he had to even though the advert said "English guide". the other thing that was not mentioned in the advert was if you wanted to see the "three valleys and waterfalls" you had to sit on the back of a mule for 2 hours. being 71 I refused to sit on a mule so I was left at a restaurant for 2 hours watching everyone else eat. we eventually had lunch at 4pm when all the rice had run out. I did not enjoy my day but the grandchildren did.

Great Hiking Tour with a local guide!

This was a great tour with Hassan! He was so friendly and really explained a lot within the Atlas Mountains, the meal at the end was fantastic & was a good amount of hiking throughout the area. The camel ride was short at the start of the day, so it wasn't the main feature of the tour.

Excellent day out

What an amazing day out. The driver and guide were very knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to enjoy their time with the group. Be prepared for a steep climb at some points. The guide warned us about this and our group managed with no problem. There are donkeys for the less abled so if you think you’ll struggle speak up before you start the walk. There was no pressure to buy from the cooperatives we stopped at along the way, we met some lovely people.

Best Moroccan excursion for the price and people
Joanna
, Mar 2020
I participated in the Atlas Mountains tour in Feb 2020. Of the excursions I took in Morocco, this was by far the best! The car ride to Atlas Mountains was filled with nice stops for views, but none that were tourist traps (eg: we didn’t get overpriced cafes, or pay to use the restroom stops, which I got on all other tours) . After the camel ride in the morning, we were served a hot breakfast (also included) before arriving at Atlas Mountains for our two hours hike. Driss, our Berber host and hiking lead, took us around the mountains and the village, trying his best to answer our questions, and at no point tried to make us pay extra. We had tea at his house after the hike, which was super nice and relaxing. To note, the lunch costed extra (about 6€, which was again relatively cheap compared to other excursions pricing, and traveler restaurant prices in general). Best excursion I could’ve booked. 100% recommend.

This day trip was amazing, the views were mesmerising, and I have never taken so many pictures! The Berber lunch was fanatatic, with a great a view of the Atlas mountains. Special thanks to our tour guide Omar and driver Hassan for giving us a fantastic day trip. Omar was attentive in helping us through the mountainous villages and gave us an insight to the Berber culture. If anyone is interested in travelling to Marrakech, I highly recommend this day trip. The trip gave us a real experience of Berber lifestyle and if I ever go back to Marrakech, I would do it again!
