Depart Malaga by air-conditioned coach and follow the coast to Gibraltar, the British territory that occupies a promontory jutting into the Mediterranean Sea.

Famous for its soaring limestone ridge known as the Rock of Gibraltar, this chunk of British territory is also known for its duty-free shopping and British-style sights, including traditional pubs and trademark red telephone boxes.

After a roughly 2-hour journey, arrive and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gibraltar’s main attractions. Snap photos of the port, glimpse the walled inner city, and visit St Michael’s Cave, a network of natural caverns in the cliffs. Admire the stalactites and stalagmites and marvel at the largest cavern, an incredible grotto that’s used for concert and cultural events.

Next, drive up the 1,400-foot (425-meter) rock as your guide talks about the age-old legends that surround it. The ancient Romans and Greeks considered it one of the two Pillars of Hercules that stood at the edge of the world.

At the summit, gaze out over the Spanish coast and toward Morocco across the Strait of Gibraltar. Meet the rock’s famous residents: the semi-wild Barbary macaque monkeys known locally as ‘Barbary apes.’ Take snaps of these cheeky animals, but keep a watch on your belongings as they’ve been known to snatch and run!

Descend the rock and enjoy free time to explore the center independently. Perhaps have lunch (own expense) at a pub, meander around the pretty lanes, or shop till you drop along the long, central avenue of Main Street.

Most of the stores are made up of high-street British names, as well as international fashion chains and craft shops. Browse for British specialties such as clothing; snap up traditional Gibraltar glassware; and perhaps pick up duty-free favorites such as liquor, watches and fragrances.

Afterward, relax on the coach ride back to Malaga where your tour ends at the start point.

Poor guide person. Long driving time . Not too much attraction in Gibraltar I don’t recommend it . Could be more attractive if you have a good guide person , who will talk about the history and culture of the area and the cities and the towns we pass through . Good eat places in Gibraltar . The prices in the shopping market are the same as any other place ,

A superb guided tour

Francis was superb. He presented the history of Gibraltar superbly well and generously sprinkled with humorous commentary. He seemed to truly love his job. I would recommend him as a guide to anyone taking this tour.

My experience in Gibraltar

The bus swap took a very long time, and once we were in the small bus, the guide talked mainly in German, although there was a separate bus for German speakers, and in my bus only 2 people out of the whole group were German. The long awaiting for the small bus to take us to the top of the rock took cut into the spare time we have had left in the lunchtime. The guide and service on the Spanish side was much better that the one on the British one. The views from the top onto Africa were amazing, and the monkeys were very well behaved. Not enough time though to get to know Gibraltar.

In “Gib” For The Day!

We had a lovely day in “Gib”. We learned a lot about the history of the area as well as seeing the amazing St. Michaels Caves! The tour guides were great! Very informative and helpful. The trip to Gibraltar was quite long as we had to stop multiple times along the way to pick up people however only one stop in Malaga. Also it would of been nice to have included in the tour the cable car or a larger bloke of time available to do that! All in all well worth the long drive!

The trip was as advertised. The tour guide was great spoke 3 languages excellent. It was amazing to see the caves really amazing. The Rock of Gibraltar was something to see along with the apes. If I Had one fault with the day it would be the number of pickup and drop off points.

Express? Not really

To start with, I very much enjoyed the tour of Gibraltar and recommend it to everyone. My complaint is that I paid extra for the 'express' which was supposed to get us there and back with minimum stops. If 9 stops is 'minimal' than I hate to think what the 'non-express' was like. It took a little over 3 hours each way, which would have been fine if that was what I had paid for and was expecting.

i recommend this to anyone going to Malaga. early start but well worth it. if you do this trip you must include st. Michael's caves. when we arrived all the people that did not book the caves just went there own way about shopping. but we had added the caves, so were taken to another mini but which took us way up the rock to the caves.. our guide Paul was so funny had the whole bus in laughter the whole journey. the caves were amazing and the views from going up the mountain was fab.. this tour was the highlight of our holiday.. a must if staying in Malaga area..

It was very pleasant day going to Gibraltar. I had always wanted to see the Rock. Such an historic piece of real estate. The only drawback was getting through customs coming and going

A day of sitting in a bus......
David B
, Oct 2019
We left Malaga at 0720 spot on time. 2 hrs later we had everyone else picked up and on the way to the rock. 1 hour in the queue to enter the UK at 1230 (5 hours travel soo far) 1230 we get in another bus to have a 2 hour drive around Gibraltar. Had 20 min in St Michaels Cave but our guide bypassed the amazing North face as we arrived @ 1430 to the bus depo for lunch and free time in the old town. ...Back at Malaga @ 2230. Not an ideal day !! A tour should be about experiencing a place .... not in a bus with a guide telling us what we are missing. This is what happened on our day tour to Gibraltar.
