Wonderful tour and Guide
, Mar 2020
This was a really great tour. We loved both Oxford and Harry Potter World. Our tour guide, Katie, was the best that we have ever had! Everything was very well run and on time. She was incredibly knowledgable and had so much enthusiasm in everything she did. Thanks for a great day!
Valentina, Andy, and Chris were outstanding! Valentina and Chris were extremely knowledgeable tour guides. Andy has superb driving skills and was quite adept at maneuvering loads of traffic. It was a wonderful day!
This was a great daytrip for Harry Potter fans. We had 2 families (3 adults, 5 kids) and booked the tour through Viator and it was fun by International Friends. The trip left at 8am and got back at 6:45pm. On the way to Oxford we had a pit stop at a gas station with many fast food restaurants and in Oxford we had 2 hours free time - neither was clear from the itinerary which was too bad as we had brought our lunch thinking we’d have no time to stop for food. Our tour guide (Andrew) was entertaining and knowledgeable and told us a lot about British and Oxford history in the bus and on the hour long walking tour in Oxford. During our free time in Oxford we ate our packed lunch, explored a free museum of scientific instruments (per Andrew’s pointer you can see blackboard with Einstein’s lecture notes)and few additional colleges. During the tour we’d been shown the Bodleian Library where they filmed Harry Potter infirmary and restricted library scenes but the tickets were sold out when we tried to see it during our free time :( After Oxford we drove to the Harry Potter studios where we had about 4 hours to go through the studios on our own. It takes about 30-45 minutes to get tickets and go through the initial introductory rooms/videos. We had just enough time to explore all the fantastic sets and props (could spend even more time if wanted to watch all videos/read all the displays). Thanks to the tour guide for the helpful hint that butterbeer cafe (surprisingly delicious) would be about a halfway point in the tour. The Studio is really well done and truly a fantastic experience for any Harry Potter fan. Combining a visit there with Oxford was perfect because it also exposed us to a lot of ‘real’ architecture and history!
Very smooth experience. Amber and our bus driver both did a wonderful job. Appreciated seeing both Oxford and the Harry Potter studios. I would recommend others look into lunch options in Oxford before arriving - not everything was open
Amber (guide) and Desmond (bus driver) were an 11/10. They are two of the kindest, most positive, and fun-loving people I've met in a long time. Truly, spending the day with them was better than the Oxford and Warner Brother's Studio experience combined (and neither disappointed whatsoever). I highly recommend taking this tour, as it was worth it in every way.
We absolutely loved every second of this trip. The pickup/drop off processes were smooth and conveniently located. We enjoyed having plenty of time in Oxford, both guided time and some time to explore on our own. Our guide Tom was extremely knowledgable and made the tour very fun and interesting. We booked it primarily for the studio tour tickets but were pleasantly surprised by the Oxford part of the excursion, and how our guides slipped in some Harry Potter related facts as well. We were worried we wouldn't have enough time at the studio tour, but ended up having more than enough time to go through the tour, stop for some butter beer, and do some shopping after as well. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area.
We booked this tour because even five weeks out we couldn't get tickets to the Warner Brothers Studio. This was a decent option since my husband and son were interested in Oxford as well. Turns out the whole family enjoyed the Oxford part. My ten year old is a huge CS Lewis fan and was delighted to see the "lamp post." We loved our guide (Nick) and though had we gone on our own would have spent more time at each place felt like the time was adequate compared to what most tours offer. We had about four hours at each location.
