Learning about the cork trees and the harvesting was a highlight. The Almendares Cromlech was another spot we visited that was educating and such an unusual tourist spot. Loved the town and guide recommended a superb authentic regional cafe for lunch. The prompt hotel pickup and dropoff made the tour easy.

Joao our guide was incredibly good, a gentle man so polite. He also added places to visit "on the spot" that responded to our taste. Every thing was on time and he make sure that we had water to drink because it was very hot. He did give us very interesting historical information on the tour. We do recommend this tour with Joao.

The places we visited were nice, and the visit to the megalith was interesting. The overall highlight would have to be the Chapel of the Bones--truly unique. Raquel was our guide/driver and she did an outstanding job. Her English was incredibly good and her background in art history was definitely a plus. She was very knowledgeable on all topics with the tour. Well done.

Excellent trip with a knowledgeable and personable guide. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves history and wants to understand more about the culture and attitudes of the Portuguese people. There were many highlights and we enjoyed every aspect. On reflection this trip would have been very difficult for us to organize by ourselves. We would never have seen half as much or have the opportunity to have it contextualized without mammoth pre-visit research. Well worth the money
