Departure Time

8:00 AM
This full-day excursion to the Valley of Fire and the Lost City Museum begins with a Las Vegas hotel pickup. From the famous Vegas Strip, it’s approximately an hour drive north to Valley of Fire State Park.

The aptly named Valley of Fire, well known for its red-colored rock formations, was once the spiritual center of the ancient Anasazi Indians, a great early American civilization. Valley of Fire State Park, the oldest and largest state park in Nevada, covers almost 42,000 acres. This National Natural Landmark gets its name from the red sandstone formations that were formed from great shifting sand dunes during the age of the dinosaurs. These features, which are the centerpiece of the park's attractions, often appear to be on fire when the sun’s rays reflect off of them.

Then discover the Lost City Museum (formerly the Boulder Dam Park Museum), built over and around the foundations of ancient Anasazi Pueblo ruins. Look for priceless artifacts and displays of pottery, baskets, arrowheads, tools, plus mystical ancient Indian petroglyphs and pictographs.

Be sure to bring a camera. This combo tour of early Native American life is truly a photographer’s dream come true.

Desert in the Rain !

We were collected from our hotel on a wet morning in Las Vegas by Bill in a very comfortable car for our trip to the Valley of Fire. Driving out through the city Bill kept us entertained with information and anecdotes from his life in the area. Then on to the valley, what an experience. The rain on the rocks brought out all the amazing colours and the sound of running water in the desert was kind of odd! Bill took us to all the points of interest and the petroglyphs ,giving us plenty of time to take photographs and ponder the view. Bill took us to the Cabins and while we wandered he set out our brilliant picnic lunch with chipmunks for company. Then on to the Lost City Museum to.check out the history. All in all a fantastic day -- the highlight of out trip to the South West. Thank you Bill for looking after us so well.

Great day out with stunning scenery very informative guide Ken with a wealth of knowledge of the desert, fauna & flora & indigenous population. Outstanding photo opportunities in a thoroughly laid back atmosphere a real high note to end our trip. Certainly whetted our appetite to return to see other areas & a fascinating summary of Area 51. Well done Ken & keep up highlighting the damage caused by mindless graffiti & those few individuals leaving their rubbish in this wonderful natural space.

The Guide on our tour was excellent. This was our second time on this tour and it was made far better by the local knowledge of the guide. A great day out. And we saw several long horned sheep.

Thank you for the review. I agree, whenever I go to a new location I always take a professional tour. I learn more about the area, history and geology in one day than I could in weeks of reading. Very best regards, Will Tryon VP/Owner

This was a really fun day trip despite it being unseasonably cold. Our guide (forgot his name) was very knowledgable and also accommodating as at the end, a couple with us wanted to stop hack again for some pics they missed earlier and he checked with the rest of us if we were ok doing that (we were of course). The lunch provided was also much better than most "boxed lunches". I would recommend this trip for sure as it's a lovely area!

If you have a day to spare while you are in Vegas, take a tour to the Valley of Fire. So beautiful! Our tour guide, Clayton, was awesome. Very knowledgeable in the area and since we were on a small tour, we got a lot of extra information. He knew ways to get around crowds, the best place to lunch with a view and without a crowd. Jam packed day of beautiful sites. Definitely take this tour!
