Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This isn’t the most in-depth dam tour but the Clark County Museum visit expands on the history of the area.
On this Super Hoover Dam Tour, visit Hoover Dam in air-conditioned transport on a short drive, which leaves from a central Las Vegas location as opposed to driving around hotels. On the drive to the dam your informative guide will offer entertaining commentary, and you’ll be amazed how much knowledge that one person can have.
Upon arrival at the engineering marvel, you’ll visit the government visitor center and take part in the exhibit tour, where you’ll see photos from when the dam was built and learn who benefits from all the electricity being generated.
Next, experience the thrill of walking on top of the Hoover Dam, during the popular 'Walk on Top' tour that takes place atop the legendary dam. When your mind feels like its about to burst with all your newfound knowledge, your guide will transfer you back to Las Vegas and is happy to answer any lingering questions you still might have about the dam.
Your tour will end with a stop at the Clark County Museum to see a collection of restored historic buildings that depict life from different decades in Las Vegas and Boulder City.
Designated Driver and step-on tour guide. After pickup by air-conditioned coach bus or mini bus (depending on tour size) your guide will entertain and inform you on the trip out to the dam, making the 45 minute drive seem to fly by. Once you arrive you'll be the envy of others as you are escorted onto the dam for our exclusive 45 minute fully guided tour (Walk on the Top tour) on top of Hoover Dam.
Things often covered on this walk are the history, concrete, electricity, water, intake towers, outlet works, cablesways, spillways, artwork, earthquakes, deaths, wages, rumors and more.
Your tour includes admission to the Government's Visitor Center and Exhibit where you will learn the history of Hoover Dam, view the numerous exhibits which explain how the dam was built, how it operates and who benefits from the water and electricity.
Optional: Generator Room is available for an additional cost.
Ready for a sweet treat? We are making a quick Ice Cream Sundae stop on the way back to Vegas.
Also on your 45 minute drive time on the return trip to Vegas your guide will talk about Las Vegas, its history, tips on shows and restaurants and/or Vegas trivia.
The tour was fun filled yet extremely informative because of 2 awesome people - our driver and tour guide. There is such a lot of fascinating information not only about the Dam itself but all along the way - who knew!! We had an opportunity to see the Clark Count Museum but sheer luck - and can HIGHLY recommend this to one and all - a wonderful piece of history with tons of incredible time capsuled memorabilia. Only down side was we only got 45 minutes and it was not enough - we literally were jogging through the museum, and the little town and could not get to see the rest of the place.... need more time here! Anyway - go on this tour - it is well worth it.
I had a wonderful time. Thank You Jason and Donald for all of the fun! Thank you for all of the great history! It was very worthwhile to see the Dam and experience this amazing project. I will get on that DAM bus again!
We bought this express tour and were upgraded to their deluxe tour which lasted 6.5 to 7 hours and included lunch. It appears that is common so you may want to check the day before if you only have the 4.5 hours to spend. But you get a good value if upgraded. We enjoyed the tour and the guides, and lunch was good. It looks like the Express Tour is supposed to skip the Powerplant tour at Hoover and I think that would be fine as we did not find that as interesting as the walks on the dam or on the bridge.
Jason was a great tour guide. Would have liked more info as he knows a lot. Felt very rushed. 20 minutes up 69 stairs and to the bridge was hard. Lunch was a little yucky. Museum in Boulder City was so fast and I would have loved more time to take it in. All in all it was great to see the Dam as I have never seen before, but need more time to slow it down and take it all in.
Was booked on a 4 hour express tour but was upgraded to this tourabout 6 I think last minute and so glad We were . Trevor the tour guide was both funny and informative the tour stops at the bridge to get great views of the dam then onto the guided tour of top and internals of the dam a short stop at the Boulder museum on the way back a little rushed in my opinion slightly longer to view all it had to offer would have been nice and lunch on way back made a great way to see the dam and overall a great trip
