Overview

Get beyond Las Vegas to explore Nevada’s history and landscape on a 6-hour tour to Boulder City, the Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead, including a two-hour Power Plant Tour at the Hoover Dam. This 6-hour Hoover Dam excursion includes pickup and drop-off at most Las Vegas hotels, entrance fees, and transport by air-conditioned coach. Both morning and afternoon departure times are available.
  • 6-hour trip from Las Vegas to the Hoover Dam
  • See Boulder City and Lake Mead
  • Guided Power Plant Tour included
  • Free time to shop and eat at the dam
  • All entrance fees included
  • Tour is wheelchair accessible
Choose the departure time that suits your schedule, then leave the city for a scenic, 33-mile (53-km) drive through the desert, passing historic Boulder City on your way to the Hoover Dam. Learn about the dam workers who lived in Boulder City in the early 1930s, and get views across Lake Mead, the second-largest manmade lake in the Western Hemisphere.

You’ll cross over the top of the dam, then pause for 15 to 20 minutes at the Arizona Lookout, which offers a great perspective on the entire dam area, including the Bypass Bridge.

The next stop is the Hoover Dam Visitors Center, where you’ll join the two-hour Power Plant Tour. Learn about the history of the dam on a tour that combines exhibits, film presentations, and guides, and get a good overview of how the massive dam functions.

Following your Power Plant Tour, you’ll have some free time to shop or visit the Hoover Dam restaurant, then begin the return trip to Las Vegas, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Driver was excellent and knowledgeable. Wish we would have had a little more time at the Dam. Loved the extra stops though!

Excessive Line caused us to not be able to see power plant that was included in purchase for 4 people.

Hoover dam was awesome, however, I could not attend the power plant due to the over 2 hour wait to get in. Sat at pickup area for 4:15 as told by driver, did not depart until 5:30 from location. I was not returned to my hotel until 7 pm, causing me to miss multiple sessions at the convention I was here for.

Angela was super! I wasn’t able to go the elevator because I have a icd and my husband went as he was never there before. Angela kept me company and had lunch with me while waiting for the tour to be over. A very knowledgeable person that truly loves her job!
