Good tour. Everything was on time such as pick up, lunch, other itinerary items. Tour guide was experienced on all things Grand Canyon. An issue we had was the speakers on the bus didn't have high enough volume and we couldn't hear a lot of what was said. We were in the back of the bus. Touring on our own at the Grand Canyon was nice as we could explore at our pace.
The trip was great. Mitch and Ozzy were awesome. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. My only gripe was that the windows on the bus were very streaked so it interfered with the picture opportunities at the Hoover Dam. Otherwise everything was good. I would definitely go again. Also the best price that I found for the tour!!
This was a fabulous experience. We decided to upgrade to the helicopter and boat trip which was absolutely amazing, but even without that the views were spectacular and I would highly recommend the tour.
Thank you for sharing your West Rim Bus Tour experience! We are glad you were able to enjoy one of the 7 wonders of the world and were able to upgrade to the helicopter and boat ride. We appreciate your great review!
This tour was amazing and I highly recommend it. We were picked up right at our hotel on the Vegas Strip - no transportation problems at all and we were NOT transported to a main transportation hub as some reviews mention. Our tour guide was good and gave us information about the Las Vegas area as we headed out on the tour. Weather was questionable for later in the day so our guide made the decision for us to see the Hoover Damn on the way back so we would have the maximum experience at the canyon. Good call because it started snowing at 4:00 and they closed the canyon road. A few lessons learned from the tour: the skywalk is a must do but the lines were really long - we waited over an hour to go out on the skywalk so be prepared. You can not take pictures on the skywalk and must check your cell phone and belongs in a locker. The Native American staff will take pictures for you - they take 6 pictures and you can purchase them. The full digital package is $65 or a single printed picture is $16.28- so plan for that. The skywalk is a Eagle Point and there are plenty of photo opportunities that are not on the Skywalk. Guano Point is the other area you will visit and the views from here are AMAZING- maybe even better photo opportunities than Eagle Point. Lesson learned for us - we paid extra for the walking tour but that was not necessary. The guide did not provide any additional valuable information to us and you don’t really need anyone to guide you around - it is very easy to navigate and there are Native American staff that can answer any of your questions. Also plan for the weather - we visited in December and it is COLD at the canyon so bring warm clothes- and gloves It was dark when we stopped at Hoover Damn, but still nice to see it, especially all lit up at night. This is not a tour of the damn - just a photo stop so if you are interested in a more detailed stop at the Damn, you should book a separate tour of the Damn. Even with the weather challenges this tour was the highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend it!
Our guide Rigo, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to please. The weather didn't help and we were unable to see the Grand Canyon views. We also didn't walk on the glass due to the snow. Rigo attempted to compensate through offering alternative things to do such as picture sights and others. Way to go, Rigo!
