Where do I start.. what a tour with an incredible tour guide.. was very lucky to have Ingrid as our guide for the three..
You feel she genuinely cares about what she does and she was very generous with her knowledge, her stories and definitely her time..
And of course every stop of the tour was more breathtaking than the previous one.. get ready to be really Wowed..
It was almost like having a private tour. We had a total of 5 guests on our tour. The sites were unbelievable. Between stops we were shown old famous movies filmed on loction at the places we we to visit. We covered a lot of distance in the three day tour and it was so comfortable not having to do the driving. The mini bus was comfortable and the hotel used during the trip was quite nice. The highlights of the tour were Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley.
Truly special scenery makes the trip a bargain. It does cram a LOT of travel in 3 days so time at some stop offs is limited. For instance if you want a lot of time at grand canyon this is not the tour for you. Good chunks of time at monument valley, Antelope canyon and Zion park made it one of the best travel experiences I've ever been on. Highly recommended.
Shout out to our excellent guide Eddie.
My brother and I took this trip in mid-June and it was fantastic. Our visits and stops along Route 66 were amazing because we both love the history behind "The Mother Road". The Grand Canyon stop was wonderful too. Plenty of time during two different stops to take in the grandeur. My hopes for decent views of Antelope Canyon and Monument Valley were not denied. Antelope Canyon was incredible spiritual in many ways. At Monument Valley, the ever changing weather patterns that day provided us with sunshine, rain, wind, a booming thunder storm and ever changing clouds across the valley...something a lot of people won't get to experience. Thrilling!! The last day at Horseshoe Bend, the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell were great and our final stop at Zion NP was outstanding.
The accommodations in Page, AZ were 2-Star and a little shabby but the hotel was situated amongst some terrific restaurants...Fiesta Americana and Big John's Texas BBQ.
I will suggest a couple of things. It was very confusing for us to get started at The Excalibur as there was no direction for us amidst the 7 or 8 other large tour buses there. It would've been nice to have a tour company rep there to help guide us. The videos on the bus which were played during some longer driving periods were great, except for the very last movie played for us between Zion and Vegas. An awful, dark movie with extreme violence and profanity was not appropriate for the passengers on board.
All in all an excellent tour.
Thank you for your detailed review, we certainly appreciate it and will take all your great suggestions seriously. We agree that sadly the best location does have the oldest hotels. If possible please let me know by email which movie it was and we will make sure to no longer play it on our tours. Thank you again and please accept our apologies for the movie. This trip was awesome. It includes everything in the description. I was visiting The Grand Canyon for the 2nd time and getting to know the rest of the locations was as impressive as the Canyon itself. Our guide Ingrid was great! Very knowledgeable of Native American's culture and the history of the sites we visited. She took very good care of the entire group. A comodations for 2 nights were very nice in a very convenient location. Planning to take my parents and young boys now. I can't recommended this tour enough. You get a lot for the price.
This is the best tour I have by far and I would highly recommend it. Our tour guide is professional, fun and very knowledgable. She's very passionate and she does her research before telling us the history/story about the towns we go past and the attractions that we are going. We did 1,000 miles in 3 days but we saw so many breath-taking sights and we learnt so much about them. Before the trip we thought Grand Canyon is the best but at the end of the trip, Grand Canyon is nothing compared to Antelope Canyon and Zion. This tour is our highlights of the trip and we've had an amazing experience and wonderful memories.
So sorry to hear that you were not happy with our Tour Guide Eddie, although he is a crowd favorite. The vehicle speed is regulated at the factory and he would be unable to speed at speeds that would make it terrifying for passengers. All vehicles are also equipped with ELD which registers speed, distance and time at all times and we had no over the limit information for those dates. Seatbelts in the US are not mandatory for vehicles older than 2016 as explained by email, the driver has no direct view of the DVD player/monitor and honestly, after a while, we know those movies by heart just from hearing the same movies over and over again. LOL
We had 3 Tour Guides on this tour, Navajo Guides are responsible for Navajo information while in Navajo Nation, on this day we try to talk less to not ruin their amazing tours.
We wish you had taken with you the amazing experience of the locations and not how you felt about Eddie himself. In an attempt to keep our costs as low as possible for smaller groups we do combine driver/guide, or else we would have to increase our prices.
Good luck, good health and much joy to you.
