2005 State Route 28, Incline Village, NV 89452 We operate as a concession within Sand Harbor State Park. The gates open around 7AM and the parking does fill quickly in the summer. We suggest arriving early, bring cash for the entrance fee. $10/$15

This activity will end right where it started.
Make your own way to Sand Harbor Beach in the morning to meet your guide. In the summer, the parking lot fills up early, so be sure to arrive on time.

Follow your guide to the launch point on the beach. Your guide provides a safety briefing, kayak, life jacket and paddle, then shows you how to maneuver your boat. When booking, select either a single person or 2-person kayak.

Your guide leads you out on the waters of the lake, sharing stories about Lake Tahoe's past as you glide by the historic Thunderbird Lodge, which was built in the 1930s for the heir of a wealthy San Francisco family, and now is part of Lake Tahoe – Nevada State Park.

Float past secluded, private beaches, and stop for lunch at a hidden inlet. There you can jump into the water for a swim as the day warms up.

Your tour ends in the early afternoon with return to Sand Harbor Beach.
  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking
  • Booking subject to cancellation if minimum required guests (2 people) has not been met and if no other parties have booked that tour for the same day, we will still launch the tour if you are willing to pay the price equivalent of our minimum number of people.
  • Children under 5yrs. are not permitted
  • All guests are required to carry lifejackets
  • Guests 14yrs and younger are required to WEAR their lifejacket
  • Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date
  • Please provide your contact number at time of booking so the tour operator can follow up with important information about your tour
  • Please dress appropriately in comfortable, quick-drying clothing
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Most travelers can participate
  • This tour/activity will have a maximum of 9 travelers

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Kayak tour and lunch was good. No Uber/Lyft would come to the park to take us back to the hotel. Luckily found a taxi for $200. Only select this tour if you have a car.

We operate in a remote area and have no control over the Uber/Lyft situation here in Tahoe, its a bummer you were unable to find a ride. Transportation can be difficult in the mountains and at remote locations like Sand Harbor, thanks for understanding.

Loren was extremely nice and knowledgeable about the lake and surrounding areas. This is great for all skill types. Loren will get you all caught up if you have never kayaked before. It was a beautiful July day and the water was nice and cool. Definitely would recommend you to wear sun protection (I forgot my hat and now my scalp is burned a little). My boyfriend flipped his kayak over but Loren made sure we were all calm and helped him back up. My boyfriend was fine though, he can swim just fine but the life jacket provided was very helpful. We had lunch at Chimney Beach and cooled off in the water. Loren gave us some tips on things to do around the lake for the remainder of our trip as well, great tour guide 10/10 would recommend. After the tour was over and my arms were dead. Still had a ton of fun though.

Alex, our guide, was great. Kayaking in the Sand Beach area is spectacular. They could post a much prettier picture than the one they do for this tour. The one you see is nothing compared to what you will see. Lunch was also very good (if you like deli-style sandwiches). Warning to the wise: show up NO LATER than 8:00 am for the 9:00 am tour. Parking at San Beach Harbor is limited and fills up within 15-30 minutes of them opening the lot at 8 am. Once you miss that there is no place else to park and you will miss your tour - and you really don’t want to do that. It will be the highlight of your time in Tahoe.

Highly recommend doing this! The guides were incredible and very knowledgeable. There aren't words to express the beauty of this trip. We did the 4.5 hour tour. They gave us snacks and lunch. You can jump off the rocks if you are brave enough! Best day ever!!

Only problem was when I booked via Viator, my reservation did not go through and I was not provided lunch. The company did compensate me with a bottle of sunscreen
