Awesome Customer Service and Experience

Red Lava tours was amazing! After the original operator we booked cancelled, Red Lava stepped in and provided not only GREAT customer service but also a suburb experience. They were able to secure transportation from San Jose. They kept in communication with me until they knew all my needs were met! Not to mention the actual tour... our tour guide Eric was beyond awesome. He was so knowledgeable about the tour and his extra energy and eagle eye provided an experience we'll never forget #givethatmanaraise. I am so glad I ended up with Red Lava tours. After two vendor cancellations I was nervous and stressed my daughter and I would have a wasted trip. Andres, Eric and the Red Lava tours team put those fears to rest. Ty all!!

Fabulous

We had a fabulous day on this tour. Erick was one of the best guides that we have ever had. He was very knowledgeable and informative and went out of his way to make our day a special one. He found numerous wild animals in their native habitats and made sure all of us saw them. It is a strenuous hike in places but we enjoyed every minute of it.

Hi Diane, Good to hear that you liked the tour and our guide Erick this much. Luckely most days we are able to show a good amount of animals. The areas we hike are well protected so animal populations are growing. .

Breathtaking hike

It was an amazing hike. Carlos and Santiago were extremely helpful they had us trying many different fruits and smelling many different plants that were amazing. They showed us everything we wanted and more. We highly recommend this trip to anyone who is looking for a nice hike in la fortuna. We saw 2 waterfalls and Finish the day off with the hot springs. Was absolutely breathtaking

Hi Ahmend, Nice of you to mention the fruits and plants. Very often the wildlife steals the show and the other things get less attention. But actualy learning about the things that grow in the jungle and where posible smelling and tasting them can be very rewarding aswell.

Eic and Christian were very knowledgable and enthousiastic guides, we even managed to see an ant-eater and a rare Toucan. A great day out and certainly very good value for money!!
icon Response from Host , Apr 2021
Hi Pieter, Glad you enjoyed it. Those ant eaters are interesting to see. Sometimes to scare a possible treat, they stand on their hind legs and spread their arms and their large fangs to make themselves more impressive. sometimes we are lucky and let them impress us.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide Carlos was very knowledgeable, patient and down to earth. The hike into the Rainforest was more than I anticipated. So much beauty. The trek is a bit much but so worth it.

Uricl with Red Lava was the most informed helpful guide. The trip gave me so much information on that part of Costa Rica. It was a long, tiring day, but worth every minute.

The views of the volcano and experiencing the waterfall was absolutely breathtaking .Erick , our tour guide made the experience even better. You could sense his love for Costa Rica as he spoke about the history and all the little unknown details that makes the country so awesome. My last fav part was the hiking. My partner and I took a couple of breaks as we hiked up the mountains and then down to see the waterfall. Come prepared with food hiking shoes that has a good grip ! And water!

Hi Sarah, Great tittle to your review. Having lived in this area for a long time I sometimes take the natural beauty for granted. It sometimes requeres a fresh set of eyes to realize how blessed a place we live in. There are only few places that have so many impresive natural features packed together as the town of La Fortuna has. The Arenal volcano, the fast flowing clean rivers, the jungle with the animals, huge waterfalls, the CHato volcano with its crater lake, the impressive arenal lake and last but not least the hot water river and springs that can be enjoyed. We are so fortunate to have the job of showing and sharing al of these things with our visitors and should never stop appreciating this. Your review is a good reminder of this.
