A must do if you are in Kyoto. My husband and I had the best time with our master Emily. They speak a perfect English and they were so careful to make sure we are all fine :) I'm simply loved my experience and the tea was delicious

Loved this experience. When we got there, they helped us dress in the kimono of our choice with undershirt and capris type pants underneath - both provided. They also did our hair and let us choose a hair accessory. It was so cool to dress up in the kimono color of our choice and take pictures with the backgrounds they’d set up. The kimonos are absolutely beautiful. The tea ceremony was informative and unique. They gave us a mochi dessert and another sweet before we made the matcha green tea. The tea was bitter and definitely not for me but it definitely felt authentic. We learned the history and reasons for the tea ceremony and got to take more photos during the ceremony. Over all, a very cool experience with very friendly staff that I’ll always remember from my Japan trip.

They were very accommodating with our reservation after we messed up so I was very appreciative about that and how professional they were. The ceremony was beautiful and we learned a lot, my wife and I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone there were very nice and friendly, I’d recommend this to anyone interested in the Japanese tea ceremony!

It was so fun to get dressed up and learn about a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. All the workers there were so nice and considerate, and did my hair beautifully, I kept it for the rest of the day! Loved it and highly recommend it!

An enjoyable hour spent dressing up in the traditional costumes and then taking the traditional tea in a described step by step manner. Knowledge and practical skills of the host were phenomenal.

The fun part is dressing in a kimono and having your hair done. Was a good learning experience for the tea ceremony, lovely to watch.

Touristy and contrived

The women who usher you into the area to dress in kimonos were very sweet but I felt a bit like cattle. The whole experience is well suited to someone who wants a photo opp but for me, it felt very touristy and contrived, with the tea ceremony under fluorescent lights in an office building. I wish instead we’d attended one at Gion Corner.

Kind Staff/ Not quite as expected

The staff was very kind and the kimono choices were great. However, the ceremony was much shorter than I expected it to be and the studio was hard to find. Right out side of the studio though is a nice area to shop and walk around, so that was nice.

Great end to a wonderful short trip...

Great end to a wonderful short trip to Japan. We booked this experience a few hours before having only been in Kyoto for the day, and were amazed at the immediate confirmation. The place was easy to find and close to a metro station. Once we arrived we were guided to the kimono location which was a short walk away, the kimono shop had some very nice ladies who were very helpful in choosing the perfect kimono. The kimonos are in multiple colors and cater to everyone tastes.Once we were all kitted up we headed back to the tea ceremony venue, when we arrived the guides were nice enough to take multiple pictures of us in poses. The tea ceremony itself was very peaceful, informational and the tea was yummy! After the ceremony was offer they told us we could wear the kimono for the rest of the day which was very nice. While we were there we saw a samurai class which looked fun, sadly we didn't have enough time. Thanks again for the great experience.
