Overview

Explore Krakow on this tour of the city’s top attractions. Led by an expert guide, see Wawel Castle, the main square of the UNESCO-listed Old Town, and St. Mary’s Church. Stretch your legs with a walking tour along the Royal Route and browse the Cloth Hall, once a major center of international trade. Your tour concludes in the city center.
  • Sightseeing tour of Krakow's royal locations
  • See Wawel Castle and the Rynek Glowny
  • Walking along the former royal processional route
  • Shop for souvenirs in Sukiennice, the Cloth Hall
Begin your tour with pickup from your select Krakow hotel. Hop aboard your comfortable coach and ride to the city center. Begin at Wawel Hill, crowned by the impressive Wawel Castle. Home to the royal family until the 1600s, the castle is now one of Poland's premier art museums. Explore the area with your guide and check out the royal crypts inside the Wawel Cathedral.

Afterward, stroll to the UNESCO-listed Old Town, into the heart of Krakow. Pause to admire the main square before stepping inside the historic Cloth Hall to browse for souvenirs to take home.

Top off your tour with a stop at St. Mary’s Church. Spot the notable wooden altarpiece carved by Veit Stoss and listen for the famous sounds of the trumpet, played on the hour from the church’s highest tower.

Your tour will conclude in central Krakow, where you can continue to explore independently.

Stop At:
Wawel Royal Castle
The spectacular renaissance palace that we admire today atop Wawel Hill is the result of the refurbishment of the Gothic Royal Castle in the first half of the 16th century according to the wishes of Sigismund I the Old (Zygmunt Stary). It was the abode of Polish kings and their closest family, while the stately halls provided a backdrop for courtly and political life.

Wawel Cathedral
The most important house of worship in Poland, whose imposing interior symbolically testifies to the continuity of the historical memory of generations of Poles. Royal Way (Droga Krolewska)
ROYAL ROUTE – a former route of the royal retinue’s ceremonial processions. It runs from St. Florian’s Church, past the Barbican, along the preserved fragments of the city walls and St. Florian’s Gate, through Floriańska Street to the Main Market Square and through Grodzka and Kanoniczna Street to the Royal Castle on Wawel Hill. A wander along the royal route allows for seeing the most precious churches and the most interesting tenement houses of the city. A part of the route (St. Mary’s Basilica – Wawel Hill) is being traversed to this day in the ceremonial processions, such as church processions at Corpus Christi or funeral processions towards Wawel Hill or the necropolis in Skałka.

Stop At:
Krakow's Rynek Glowny Central Square
This is the place of the most “mosts”: the most important public space in Kraków, the most expansive Market Square of medieval Europe, it gathers everything most characteristic of the city and has its most distinctive hallmarks, and last but not least: the most beautiful, the most important, the most charming, the most…

I was lucky enough to be one of two people on this tour so it felt like I had a guide just to myself : walking through Krakow, the castle and then back at the Mariacki in time to hear the 12 0 clock trumpet. This tour was really worthwhile

Our city guide Bruno was very professional and fun to talk to. The guide in the Wawel Castle was so difficult to understand and so quick to run through the rooms, I had to go back the next day and do it over because I felt like I haven't seen enough.
