It cost us 50. for a taxi to get from the port to the only location we could get the local operator to pick us up. Communicating with local operator was frustrating and non-productive. Driver picked us up, careened around the island without a word to pick up guide. Cheerful guide, who I think was the same woman who could not understand that we were coming in on a ship. We were driven at breakneck speed to each location, all of which were nice, but there was NO information given about the sites: just You have X minutes here, then off again. It was getting later and later, much longer than the three hours, and we were worried about getting the last tender to the ship. We asked her if we could just stop at the port because obviously we were circling the island and would pass it, and she said that was our last stop before we did the half hour or so back to the hotel where we were forced to go to join the tour. We got within sight of the port and the van stopped at some shops and restaurants. She told everybody to get off and that we had X minutes to shop and eat. We could see the pier some distance away with the tenders and the ship way out in the harbor. We pointed them out and said we really needed to get to that pier so we could get back to the ship. She laughed and said Ship? If you're going to that ship, where is your luggage? We told her it was on the ship. She laughed again. Didn't believe us. We told her we came in on that ship. She was astounded. I explained we had to take the little boat to get to the big boat. She still didn't seem to understand. Finally, we asked if the driver could take us closer to the pier so we could actually get back on the ship in time. They finally did this, and we got the next to the last tender. The three hour tour was already into the 5th hour. This tour will not pick up at the port. Viator needs to add an option for travelers to get to the pickup point, and totally restructure the tour to fit the time constraints, as well as give participants information about the places they are going. At the overlook stop, we had to wait in the van while our guide danced with some people from another van. Contact the local provider in this case cost a lot of money for no results, since they didn't understand the situation at all. Viator rep had to call them a couple of times to even determine the pickup point for us. Beautiful island, don't book this tour if you're coming in on a ship or want to learn anything about the sites, fauna or flora of it.
