Me and my sister had a fantastic day out at panauti and bhaktapur. We were really impressed with our guide Deepa's knowledge of the history of Nepal, hinduism and buddhism and thoroughly enjoyed her company. It seems royal mountain travel really care about the environment and we were very pleasantly surprised to be picked up in a very comfortable electric car to get driven between the locations.
We have been on other guided tours in Nepal but learned much more on this one than any others.
Thank you for an amazing last day in nepal before our journey home!
Response from Host , Feb 2020
Dear Jennifer,
Namaste!!!
We are so happy to know, you had an amazing tour with our female tour leader Ms. Deepa and we are glad you enjoyed your last day tour in Nepal. As one of our core values, sustainability is woven through every element of our business and we are proud of the work we’ve done to put our environment and our people first.
Looking forward to serve you again.
Best Regards

This trip to two ancient places in the Kathmandu valley is highly recommended. The squares and temples are amazing. Especially when you have Dilip as your guide. It seems that he knows a lot about the Nepali history, can answer any question. Very pleasant, nice guy.

I loved the day trip - full of surprises and good thoughts, and a delicious lentil flour pancake. Januja and the driver and the electric car were wonderful. Thank you.

I took this daytrip to escape from the noise of Kathmandu and Thamel, and it was awesome. My guide was very accomodating and he was explaining the different places and buildings as we went.
The only cons is that it's more a half day trip and I would have liked to spend more time visting Bhaktapur. I really recommend doing this if you are in kathmandu and want a more quiet experience.

Mohini was my guide for this adventure and I am as impressed by her knowledge and as by her unflagging enthusiasm. The information about the sites was detailed and provided with context. I was also impressed that the car used for transport was an electric vehicle. I was happy to hear that the tour company is concerned about the environment. I highly recommend this tour!
Great trip into the hilly countryside and out of the busy capital!

I decided to walk instead of asking to get picked up to meet my guide and driver. It turned out that I was the only one who booked the tour so it was just me! My guide explained that we would go to Panauti first about 35 kilometers away then Bhaktapur. It was rice harvesting season so I got to see the locals spreading the rice grains out to dry. We had lunch with a great view in Bhaktapur - local Nepalese food! Be mindful that they include a 10% + 13% tax in addition to your order. I went mid-October so the weather was great and I got some wonderful photos. My guide explained the history of the sites, temples, Hindu gods, etc. but he was naturally very soft spoken so sometimes I did not hear or understand what he said but he was very patient and repeated the information when I asked. He never rushed me to view a sight and went at my pace. Towards the end of the day I realized that we were running late but I did not feel rushed by him - I just felt bad for taking long since I asked a lot of questions and took a lot of photos. Overall I am very satisfied with the tour and recommend it to anyone looking to leave the capital and see some of the beautiful hilly landscape of the valley!

This tour is amazing value and Kalpana our guide was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable in terms or history and culture, promoting grassroots tourism with an emphasis on the empowerment of women in business. The sights visited were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this tour without hesitation.
Day tour beyond hassle of Kathmandu

A group of 4 ladies were looking for a quick experience on the outskirts of Kathmandu. The first village we visited was Panauti, a very quaint, peaceful village walk. We walked at our pace of personal interest and even swung on the big bamboo festival swing. Next we went to Bhaktapur, a World Heritage site. Many museums were closed due to the festival holiday. We stopped for a sweet, cool yogurt and even did some limited shopping.
Our guide Akshay from Royal Mountain Travel was personable, friendly, spoke excellent English and offered a hotel drop off as well. We felt safe and entered a small picture of Nepalese culture.
One of the best tours I've ever taken!

We had a wonderful day with our guide who was knowledgeable and passionate about the small town of Panauti and her home town of Bakhtapur. We were able to visit a small school in Panauti and to sample the "king of curds," delicious local yogurt, in Bakhtapur. She answered all of our questions in detail.

I really enjoyed the tour and can recommend it to everyone!! The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and what I particularly liked is that he would show me something and then give me a couple of minutes or as long as I want to check the site out by myself. I liked that this gave me enough opportunity to take nice photos and experience the site/moment by myself without having to keep a conversation 100 of the time. Definitely worthwhile!

This was one of the best tours we have done in the area. Our tour guide Raz was very knowledgeable, patient and gave us enough space to explore the places. The tour started in the village of Panauti where we could see how locals live and ended in Bhaktapur where we walked around all the main sites. We stopped by for lunch at one of the tourist restaurants on Durbar square. Our version of the tour did not include lunch with local women in Panauti, as advertised in tour description, but nonetheless it was a very nice and informative tour. Thank you Raz!
P.S. Raz asked us if we wanted to stop by a thangka shop in Bhaktapur and it was great that we didn't feel pressured to purchase anything. This was a nice school, so if you are interested in purchasing thangkas, I recommend you look around few stores prior to visiting this one to know what you are looking for and compare prices.
We perform checks on reviews
You can only submit a review or rating of an experience to Viator if you were the person who made the booking through Viator. Before publication, each review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information for each of the following criteria: who, what, how, and when. If the system detects something that contradicts our publication criteria, the review is not published. When the system detects a problem with a review, it may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site. In some cases, we will also send you an email asking you to validate your review before it is published. All you need to do is click on the link provided in the email. After publication, our team checks each review reported to it as not meeting our publication criteria. Tripadvisor reviews that appear on the Viator site are subject to the same checks and moderation processes as set out above. It is not necessary to have booked an experience through Viator (or Tripadvisor) to submit a review of an experience to the Tripadvisor site.

Sorting, ranking, and search results
Viator wants to make your searches as relevant as possible. That’s why we offer many ways to help you find the right experiences for you.
On some pages, you can select how to sort the results we display and also use filter options to see only those search results that meet your chosen preferences. You’ll see explanations of what those sort options mean when you select them.
You’ll see some experiences with a “Promoted” badge, which means that the operators of those experiences have agreed to pay Viator more to have their experience highlighted.
If you see an Experience Award Winner label, the award is based on average review ratings, share of bookings with a review, and number of bookings through Viator over a 12-month period.
The importance of any one factor over any other in a sort order varies, and the balance is constantly being reviewed and adjusted. We’re always updating our systems and testing new ways to refine and improve your results to make them as relevant as possible to meet your needs.
