  • On this hiking trip, you will be walking at demanding altitudes of approximately 12,467 ft (3800 m) above sea level, with the possibility of extreme variations in weather; it is common for travelers to experience adverse health effects due to this altitude, regardless of your age, gender and fitness. It is highly recommended that you discuss this trip with your doctor prior to departure
  • All tour leaders have basic first aid training and are aware of the closest medical facilities
  • Travel insurance that covers medical expenses, including emergency repatriation, is required to participate on this tour; proof of insurance must be shown to tour leader on the first day
  • Minimum age is 15 years; all travelers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • As no meals are included, please expect to spend around US$130 in total for meals purchased locally
  • Please pack as lightly as possible, as you are expected to carry your own luggage; it is recommended that you keep the weight under 22 lbs (10 kg)
  • Extra Luggage: You may leave any extra luggage (at own responsibility) at the Day 1 meeting point Kathmandu Guesthouse and pick it up upon your return.
  • Please note that there has been significant damage to some of the sites visited on this tour due to the earthquakes in April and May 2015

This trip was operated by the Intrepid group. We had a great leader in Ram Hari Phuyal and his team. We did some serious trekking and got as high as 13,000 feet with a great view of Mt. Everest. I recommend this highly.

Un séjour génial, des paysages...

Un séjour génial, des paysages époustouflants, accompagnés de guides et de porteurs très conviviaux et parfaitement au fait des besoins d'une expédition pareille. Je ne saurais que recommander cette aventure malheureusement c'est toute l'organisation autour qui reste à désirer. Par quoi commencer? Par viator premièrement, qui nous vend une aventure, départ le 25 à 8h, qui envoie un mail une semaine plus tard précisant que son prestataire ne part pas ce jour là mais le lendemain. Pas très grave, sauf que du coup cela nous a enlevé le jour tampon avec le retour du Népal, nous obligeant ainsi à prendre un hélicoptère pour 300 dollars par personne de plus! De plus, le départ est à 5h du matin et non à 8h. L'agent sur place, que nous sommes allé voir la veille, aurait lui aussi pu nous tuer - il nous a répondu que des vétements de ville étaient suffisants jean, sweat, pas de manteau, si on a froid on met les mains dans les poches..., qu'un sac de couchage n'était pas nécessaire.... Arrivé en haut, à -10C dans les chambres la nuit, on s'est dit qu'on a bien fait de ne pas l'écouter et de prévoir tout de même. Enfin, l'arnaque permanente des compagnies sur place. Pour revenir en hélicoptère, cela a été tout une galère pour avoir un prix défini et finalement nous avons payé un aller retour pour 5 personnes, hélicoptère venant à vide pour nous. Ils ont fait la même démarche de l'autre côté : l'hélicoptère est venu plein, ce qui fait qu'ils ont eu l'argent de deux allers retours en en faisant qu'un ! Ah, et au passage, mais on est plus à ça près, on a embarqué également le pote du gérant gratuitement. Le prix des 6 passagers n'a été divisé que par 5 et on n'a jamais revu l'argent de l'annulation des billets d'avion... En bref, un très bon voyage entre le moment où on est arrivé et trois heures avant de repartir. Mais, à part la guide et les porteurs, tous les intermédiaires qui nous ont aidés incluant viator sont de parfaits incompétents.
