Our guide Yuta san (from Kanazawa Walking Tour) is a very nice & attentive guide. He made our long journey out to Takayama & Shirakawago so comfortable & rewarding. He is very obliging & always offered to carry all our shoppings for us. His recommendation for lunch was excellent. We really enjoyed the Hida beef lunch. He is also knowledgeable about Shirakawago and took us to the observation deck first before it gets dark. The view up there is very nice. The houses in the village are really unique which explains why it's a UNESCO site. Be prepared to walk quite a lot. Mr Yuta also took us to a small cosy cafe for a break. Lastly, he dropped us off at a nice yakitori restaurant near our hotel. We really enjoyed our day with Yuta san.
