Jasper, Jasper, Jasper National Park, Alberta

Directions: From the east end of the town site of Jasper, follow highway 16 east for 3 km to the bridge across the Athabasca river to the right, take the left fork from the end of the bridge and follow the Maligne Road 48 km to Maligne Lake.  Follow the parking signs to three free parking areas and then the walkway through the forest to Maligne Lake, ticket office, boathouse and Chalet

Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. Imposing granite peaks circle a wonderland of cascading waterfalls, lush forests, hot springs, and diverse wildlife. At the heart of the park lies one of the true treasures of the Canadian Rockies, Maligne Lake.

Reach Spirit Island, near the center of the lake and accessible only by boat. Here, you’re treated to views of craggy, snowcapped peaks that ring a bright-blue lake and old-growth forests. Keep your eyes peeled for the wildlife that prowl the shoreline, including deer, bears, and eagles.

Your cruise ends back at the boathouse, where you can purchase a hot beverage or a snack from the nearby lodge and chalet. Feel free to linger as long as you like and enjoy the landscapes from the shore.

Excellent cruise...COVID19 safety protocol had been followed. Limited people inside the boat. Just a suggestion, giving more time to walk around Spirit Island (15 minutes is not enough to enjoy the view)

The tour is worth it if you are visiting such a majestic Lake and it's history. However we were not aware of reservations. We catch the last cruise of the day since everything else was sold out. We got tickets online a week ahead, but were never told to also call and make a time reservation.

Poor customer service. They oversell their ticket through third party (Viator) and did not have ticket available. Tickets are non-refundable.

The one who is piloting the boat was rude and not friendly at all! One of my friend accidentally threw her hat over the fence where we were docked (spirit island) so she went over the fence to get it and probably the driver of the boat didnt see the whole thing, he just saw her coming down from the fence and told her that she is disrespectful! (we knew that we are not allowed to go over the fence) he should have said it nicely. Sooo disappointed

Very friendly, low-key 1.5 tour. Sarah was the guide, Kelly was the captain. Toilets are a necessity; perhaps at the stopping point near Spirit Island.
