Wouldn’t recommend

While the organisation was fine and the tour guide good I would not recommend this tour. The city tour doesn’t really cover anything that you couldn’t do with a short walk around downtown. But, my main issue with it is that because you don’t arrive at the space centre until after midday. For my trip (on a weekday not a weekend) this was too late to book onto a mission control team tour. This is the highlight of many people’s trips to the space centre so it was frustrating to miss it. Would suggest you rent a car or take an Uber instead.

The Houston Space Center is a must see; however, more presentations would enhance the experience. Do the Tram first. The City Tour was excellent. The presentator was on his game.

Space stuff is interesting to me. Our visit was part of a Houston city tour. We were at NASA 4 hours, which was just right. We visited in Mid January. Was not busy at all.

A very large area. One must take the tram tour. Touch the moon rock and meteorite from Mars. Actually, I was expecting more to see.

Very well organised

Very well organised and everything worked to plan. Only slight negative we could have done with more info about how the tram trips work in the space centre. Didn't know you had to register a time for the mission control one and didn't realise it was separate rises to the other two areas. Prior knowledge would have helped us plan better. This is only a helpful sussestion as we were very happy with the whole trip otherwise

The city tour was very interesting but the NASA tour was amazing.highly recommend going there. Unfortunately our bus broke down coming home, we were left sitting on the edge of the motorway for over an hour, not feeling very safe, 10 passengers. The trucks and bigger vehicles, were extremely close and we felt movement as they passed. The driver did not keep us informed at all. In hindsight we should have disembarked and gone down the bank and across to the shopping centre, given a coffee or water until our new transport arrived, most certainly gotten off the bus.

NASA space center & city tour

The city tour was excellent, as was the transport to and from to the NASA space center. The price paid was reasonable as well. However, this was in December, and the crowds at the space center was huge. We had to wait for a long time to get in to the space center, and the wait for the tram tour was about 45 minutes or more. Although this cannot be controlled by the tour organizers, they could offer the option of the space center tour on its own without the city tour, and drop off people at the space center at 9 AM when it opens for visitors. By doing so, it would be faster getting in, and people would have the entire day until 5 PM to tour the space center. I understand this option may not be the best for everyone, but, I am sure there would be sufficient people who are really interested in spending an entire day at the space center. It was nearly 1.00 PM when we got in to the space center, and we were told to be at the entrance to go back to downtown by 4.45 PM, thereby giving us less than 4 hours at the space center. Given the crowds, this time period was not at all sufficient to see and experience even 50% of what they had to offer. As a result, I came back the next day on my own, so that I had the opportunity of experiencing more of what they had to offer.

Gopalan’s review on space centre

The space centre looks outdated and the exhibits and international space station was the saving grace. I enjoyed having a look at Saturn V and was overwhelmed by its size. The movies were average. There was no 3 d. There was no imax. Felt Houston can do better than that to show the grand achievements US is making in Space research. The testing centre and simulation areas of course inspired. Overall I thought the learning component was missing. Wow factor is missing too.
