5-Day Lap of Tasmania Tour from Hobart
INGE Y
, Nov 2019
A most comprehensive and reasonable tour with main focus on exploring the natural beauty of Tasmania, The guides were friendly and accommodating, and the bus was comfortable with a trailer for luggage. Though it was geared towards backpackers, simple en-suite accommodations were also offered and we had a great mix of young students, youngish and older couples and singles (70-ish) and there was time for hiking and enjoying the outdoors even though we covered a lot of territory. We felt it was well paced - except the last day got a bit rushed as the first hike took longer than anticipated.
Meals were not included but opportunities for grocery shopping and restaurant stops were provided every day. We had two guides who were both good though drafted at the last minute and that seems to be somewhat of a challenge for the operators. Another suggestion is to allow for an upgraded en-suite option for the bedrooms - at least at Tullah Lodge, which is otherwise has a lovely location and common facilities right on the lake. But we were accommodated there too and appreciate the flexibility of the tour company.
Overall a great experience for the price!

Overall the tour was very good We saw a lot of interesting sights in 5 days and the group was fun
There were two serious negatives The first guideRenke was excellent - conscientious, informative and a good driver, He left after day 3 and was replaced by Greg the owner Day 4 he texted most of the drive which was very scary as the roads were narrow and windy and at times was on he wrong side of the road As the oldest member of the group, I was elected to speak to him. Day 5 , he did not text while driving but his attention seemed to be more on running his business
Second complaint was the househostel he owns where we spent the first two nights It was substandard, compared to all other hostels, I experienced, It needed repairs - shower head falling out of the wall, bathroom doors that didn't lock, poorly equipped tiny kitchen for 24 people, wet laundry hanging around, and not very clean. I watched the guide take used duvet covers from the used laundry pile and fold them and put them back with the clean bedding He said they were washed once a month!!!
The other accommodation was good

It was so so great!!! As I'm not a person with regular exercise, before I go the trip I'm a bit worry about the walks at national park, cradle mountain, wineglass bay etc. But our tour guide JACK is really really good coach! He let us chose diff routes according to our physical and he told us many funny stories and history. He lead a 7 days trip and I think he shold be so tired to take care 20ppl. But his face always full of smiles and try his best to fullfill any of our needs. There were many colleges girls at the tours and some of them walk slow at the park and Jack just run and run to found them out and take care of their safty when there was rainny weather. Thanks Viator/JUMP and especially Jack gave me and my husband a memorible wedding anniversary trip at Tasmania! I will recommand it to my friends!!! Thanks again Jack! Hope that you can see this post! Wilson and Carmen HK

My biggest disappointment with the tour was the customer service provided by Jump Tours.
On the last day of the tour we were informed by our guide that we would stop at Launceston and from there we would have to take a bus that would take us to Hobart. Since in the tour was included: Hotel pickup and drop-off / Transport by Jump tour buses I questioned Jump Tours through their facebook messenger.
Among other excuses, I was told that if I wanted better service I should have paid more, since they are one of the cheapest tours in Tasmania, and so, they could change arrangements.
I would like to remind Jump Tours that I paid what I was asked, so I should receive what I was promised.
What they referred to as cheap/low cost is for many of us a hard earned money, and should be valued as such for a company that provides a service.
Also If they need to increase prices to provide a better service they should do it, but that is a company problem, not a problem the customer should have to be involved in or suffer because of it.
And last, being a low-cost company doesnt mean you provide a bad service, just look at Amazon, the first low-cost online bookstore and a reference in customer service from day one.
I believe jump tour should review their customer service in order to provide a better service.
As far as the tour goes, our guide Ben was fantastic and Tasmania is a beautiful destination, so, for all of you planning this trip I recommend you choose a company that values you and your money.
